Add classic turn-of-the-century charm to your home with this beautiful set of 2 high quality, vintage Pulaski Furniture Company (made in Virginia) St. James apothecary-style washstands (#45260) that are based on the Edwardian period (1901-1910) and can complement your homes interior design as nightstands, side tables, or accent tables in the foyer/entry way, living room, bathroom, or bedroom. This washstand reproduction was Introduced in 1977 as part of the Functional Romantic Collection, also called the “Apothecary Collection”, and was created by award-winning designer Leonard Eisen, who blended traditional washstand elements with old-world medical apothecary charm. Crafted with timeless detailing, each table features warm burnished brown carved Maple wood, a white/cream base color marble top, a brass rail, 2 decorative multi-facet crystal drawer pulls, a large, half-crown shaped brass pull, smooth-operating hardware, and functional caster wheels for easy mobility. The two drawers located at the top of the table also display antiqued brass plates with the names of exotic sounding Edwardian-era remedies. There is a 3rd larger drawer at the bottom providing additional convenient storage. WASHSTAND DIMENSIONS: ~18W x 14.5D x 33.5H (not including height of railing) CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition. Please see photos. One end spoke on the brass railing of one of the tables has been replaced but is not noticeable unless more closely inspected. Sturdy construction and roll smoothly on their casters. Green felt has been placed in the top two drawers as protective liners, however, the felt is just lying loosely on top, not glued, and can simply be lifted out if not desired. COMPANY HISTORY: Pulaski Furniture was founded in 1955 in Pulaski, Virginia and in the early years produced all its furniture in Virginia workshops. By the mid-1970s, Pulaski had one of the largest furniture plants in the country. Pieces from the distinctive Apothecary line are considered to be collectibles.
