Hello again. There are lounge chairs, and then there is Eero Saarinen’s Womb chair, which launched a rebellion against the stiff, one-position lounge chairs of the era. And like a true classic, it has had a rather impressive second career on screen, appearing in a host of films, ranging from The Moon Is Blue (1953) to Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025). But to us, its most famous pop-culture moment belongs to none other than Elle Woods, Esq. Yes, that’s right: Reese Witherspoon had a bubblegum-pink Womb chair and ottoman in Legally Blonde. The production designer specifically chose the chair as part of Elle’s highly stylized bedroom, pairing its mid-century modern pedigree with her signature pink aesthetic. Which, frankly, feels appropriate. Because the Womb has always been a little bit glamorous, a little bit rebellious, and completely uninterested in telling you how you’re supposed to sit. You see, Florence Knoll asked Eero for something she could “curl up in”: a chair that would allow you to sit sideways, sideways-ish, legs over the arm, curled up, stretched out, or pretty much however you damn well pleased. And boy did Saarinen deliver. Which brings us to this particular example: LIKE NEW 100% authentic Knoll Womb chair with matching ottoman. Full-size—not the smaller medium version—and upholstered in Knoll’s beautiful “Diva” fabric (a thick and durable textile that is both luxuriously soft yet sturdy enough for heavy traffic) in the “Platinum” colorway (a lovely heather gray). It is fully labeled and stamped (including the KnollStudio logo and Saarinen’s signature precision-engraved into the leg on both the chair and the ottoman and additional factory sticker with unique serial number for authentication) and comes with all original certification paperwork and detailed order information. All original Knoll boxes and packaging are still intact. (We momentarily removed the protective plastic sheeting solely to photograph the pieces properly, but once the photographs were finished, they went right back into their protective packaging.) In other words: this is about as close as you’re going to get to buying a Womb Chair from Knoll and being the first person to actually live with it. ADDITIONAL CONSTRUCTION DETAILS • LIKE NEW, manufactured in 2022 • Designed by Eero Saarinen, 1948 • Full-size (Standard) Chair & Ottoman • Upholstery: Diva — Platinum • Molded fiberglass shell with upholstered construction • Seamless steel rod base with polished chrome finish

Vintage 60s/70s Gold Swivel Chairs, MCM / Hollywood Regency Fan-shaped backs, matching pair, vintage character, and condition. I’m trying to identify the manufacturer and approximate value of a matched pair of vintage mustard/gold velvet swivel lounge chairs that have been in my family for more than 30 years. They appear to date from the late 1960s or 1970s and have a distinctive scalloped/fan-shaped channel-tufted back, wraparound barrel shape, thick loose piped seat cushion, and fully upholstered cylindrical swivel base. They appear to retain their original upholstery. There is a surviving factory/order tag underneath, but unfortunately the manufacturers name is no longer legible. I’ve found a few period chairs with strikingly similar construction and styling similar to Milo Baughman and Directional Furniture; but I have not confirmed the manufacturer and don’t want to make an unsupported attribution. In the photos, the swivel part of the chair is removed; except for in the photo with the table beside it. You can see how the chair sits about 1 inch above the ground when the swivel is attached. Wooden Swivel is in tact and included and can be removed if desired. These are not currently for sale. I will be selling the pair once the manufacturer is identified and I have a better sense of their value. If you might be interested in purchasing them once they’re identified, you’re welcome to contact me as well. Any leads, old catalog images, comparable listings, or information about the maker would be greatly appreciated. Then, they will be for sale once I understand these details.
