PRISTINE VINTAGE SILK QUM RUG Intricate Hunting Scene Design Qum hunting rugs are often hung on the wall, instead of being used as a carpet This rug is perfect as a piece of artwork for the wall and has only ever been used as a wall hanging (tapestry) IT HAS NEVER BEEN ON THE FLOOR It was purchased from a high end rug dealer - Atiyeh Brothers, Portland Oregon - in the 1960s It is in pristine like new condition Original family ownership This rug is made from silk, which allows it to reflect light in the room in a way that only this fiber can do. This gives it a luster that will brighten any space and give it a classic look. These artistic rugs are beautiful, detailed, and show a level of skill that is found in only the finest pieces Hunting rugs are a special category among collectors and connoisseurs of Antique rugs. They recall the glory, splendor, and mythologies surrounding the Royal Courts. They depict scenes of hunting and victory among the rulers. Many times, hunting scenes depicted in the silk Qum rugs recall a famous poem or story. The symbolism of the vintage silk rugs is quite complex. This silk rug stands out for its exquisite use of color and level of detail that gives the pictorial elements a realistic character and feel. The abundant plant and animal life represents a time of prosperity. As a result, Qum silk rugs were quickly able to establish themselves in the world of fine rugs. This caliber of vintage Qum rug showcases a tremendous degree of detail by establishing thinner outlines and using vibrant colors. In this masterpiece, both of these elements are present and visible. A Persian silk rug stands for pure luxury. This rug in particular, since Qum (also called Qom) silk rugs are known to be the most sophisticated and to count among the finest Persian rugs. Only a skilled master is able to craft such a rug, which easily takes over one year work time. The natural silk from this area is highly popular and said to be the highest-quality silk ever made. It has a most beautiful shine and is even sufficiently robust for frequented rooms. This carpet comes from Iran (formerly Persia) and as a Persian rug enjoys probably the highest reputation among all hand-knotted rug types. No other region looks back on such a long tradition in rug making as Iran. Thus, the probably finest and most elaborate rugs originate here. The robustness, durability and quality of the Persian knot are still unsurpassed today. Persian rugs are usually named after their region of origin. Pure silk is probably one of the most luxurious natural materials. Its combination of fineness and robustness is unbeaten among textile fibres. Even today, silk is an expression of high luxury. The caterpillar of the silk moth butterfly produces silk when building its cocoon. This natural silk is then elaborately extracted by hand and woven into fibres. Silk possesses an unmistakable shine that is noticeable from afar. Depending on the simplicity of the light, it varies into beautiful facets. At the same time, pure silk is extraordinarily soft, crease-resistant and heat-insulating. Traditionally hand-knotted rugs still form the highest quality standard among all types of rugs. Depending on the type of knot, the rugs are extremely robust and can last for generations. The finer and tighter a rug is knotted, the more detailed ornaments and patterns can be depicted on the pile. At the same time, a very fine oriental rug requires a much higher manual effort as well as a higher level of experience and skill of the knotter. Thus the knot density also serves as a decisive value factor of hand-knotted rugs. The quality is not directly related to the knot density. If this washer is listed, it is available for purchase. This is not a business or dealer. We are two friends who buy appliances, check them thoroughly, service any issues, and sell them here to our extra . If you’re interested please call or text the number in the listing anytime between 8 AM and 7 PM. Thank you. Maytag Traditional Top Load Direct Drive Washer Washing Machine with Full Agitator Model MTW5600TQ1 Made in the USA 3.2 cuft “Super Size Plus” Capacity Traditional Top Load with Full Agitator 6 Cycles 4 Temperature Options 4 Load Sizes Built-in bleach and fabric softener dispensers If you’ve ever heard the expression: “they don’t make things the way they used to,” this washing machine is a good example. This direct drive with the full agitator is one of the most reliable washing machine designs. This one is probably 20 years old and if you take care of it, it could provide another 20 years reliable service. It features a steel-reinforced baseframe with a smooth-balancing suspension system, powerful commercial grade motor with heavy cast iron Transmission, and sturdy mechanical pump, all on the same shaft …… from the motor to the agitator. I’ve included a photo underneath the washer. Please take a look - you can see the motor, Cast Iron transmission, and reinforced steel frame. It’s a simple uncomplicated design, and if any service is needed the design is uncomplicated, not difficult to work on, parts are readily available and typically much less than newer technology, electronic circuit boards and components etc that ad complexity, they’re much more fragile, and can be a challenge to troubleshoot. While it does not have all the fancy features like touchscreen digital displays etc. of the newer washers, it does an excellent job washing clothes, with cycles and temperature options that do just about anything most families need. And This one is in very good used condition. Some minor scratches down one side or it was touching the dryer, put overall it looks very good, I’ve included photos underneath to show the condition of the motor and transmission and frame, and it includes the drain hose so it’s ready to use. Dimensions: 27x27x44”
