Project Architect or Job Captain

DMAIA Architects is an award-winning architectural firm located in Novato (Marin County) with over 35 years of design excellence. The diversity of our types of projects is wide-ranging: from commercial through residential, mixed-use, retail, space planning, entertainment, winery, and beyond. Our team is seeking a Project Architect, Project Lead, or Job Captain, who is collaborative, motivated and experienced. We work, design, and manage our projects, as a team from our office in downtown Novato. As an integral member of the team, this person must work in our office, not remotely. There is a SMART Train station and several bus stops within walking distance of our office and plenty free on-site parking. This person will have early involvement in the design process and help us develop projects through preliminary design, planning department approvals, design development, construction documents and construction administration. He or she will be the primary technical resource for the projects team (with help and support from our Projects Director and Principal). The Project Architect / Project Lead / Job Captain will share the design and production leadership role with the Projects Director. The primary responsibility is to implement the design intent of the project into a comprehensive set of construction documents. Advancement opportunities exist for the right candidate. Our Desired (but not required) Qualifications for the candidate: - Minimum 3 years’ experience in producing construction documents for commercial projects. - Pursuing an architectural license in California (if not already licensed here) - Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture. - Demonstrated work experience in several of DMAIAs project types. - Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD to the level of efficient production of design and construction documents.
