Oushak carpets (Turkish: Uşak Halısı) are Turkish carpets that use a particular family of designs, called by convention after the city of Uşak, Turkey – one of the larger towns in Western Anatolia, which was a major center of rug production from the early days of the Ottoman Empire, into the early 20th century. Historically, Oushaks were classified as ‘Anatolian Rugs,’ Anatolian literally translating to ‘land of the rising sun.’ Today scholars know much more about Oushaks and are able to classify them as such. Anatolian is used as a last resort when a more specific identification cannot be found, at which point ‘Anatolian’ refers to a carpet made in Turkey. The level of international popularity attained by Oushak carpets became such that the word Oushak is considered an English word of Turkic origin. Oushak rugs are some of the finest Oriental Rugs, so much so that many of the masterpieces of the 15th and 16th centuries have been attributed to Oushak. The popular star and medallion carpets originated in Oushak. Oushak rugs are known for the silky, luminous wool they work with. The dyes tend towards cinnamons, terracotta tints, gold, blues, greens, ivory, saffron and grays. The late 19th century saw the rejuvenation of Oriental rug production, at this time Oushak re-surfaced as a preeminent center of weaving industry. The new Oushak industry saw two major shifts in design: floral patterns in the Persian tradition were incorporated into design and room size, decorative carpets were woven as European standards demanded.

If youre a Broyhill Brasilia fan, you realize how rare this particular piece is - the 72 oval walnut sofa/dining table - aka the Harvest table. In all of my years of restoring Brasilia furniture, this is the only one Ive come across so its as rare as it is beautiful! Official Broyhill Brasilia product number 6140-46 (stamped on bottom), quite versatile as it could be used as a sofa/side or dining table. Circa 1960s, Ive refinished many Broyhill tables over the years and this one came out absolutely stunning - the walnut tabletop is now in fantastic condition. OVERALL CONDITION: Recently completely restored and given a new protective finish to both protect this beauty for the next 30+ years and give it a lovely, period-correct satin sheen. Tabletop walnut woodgrain/condition is quite lovely, hopefully the photos do it proper justice as I took pics in different lighting to showcase its pristine condition. As with all vintage furniture, there are some small very signs of wear/patina throughout that I have already addressed/blended...this one presents beautifully overall though. DIMENSIONS: 72 long x 46 wide x 30 high (24 wide with leaves dropped) VIEWINGS/APPOINTMENTS: In-person viewings are available by appointment and always the best way to preview things so you know exactly what youre getting. We have a very simple rectangular home tea table for $25. It measures 19 ¾” deep, 39 ½” wide, and 18” tall. It has a small drawer on one side for storing remotes or other items when not in use. This cocktail table has some scuffs and scratches but is fully functional and cheap. The legs can be removed for easier transport but it will fit in almost any vehicle fully assembled. They have pullout drink trays. They were stained in a redwood color of the late 1950s. They have porcelain knobs from that time frame. One of the small ones was cracked and repaired. SAVERS IS FOR PROFIT AND IS NOT A CHARITY! Drop all your broken crap off at this place called Savers in Danvers. They do not care if its working or not. They will often just break it put it right in the dumpster before it even enters the building even if its brand new and unused. I have seen this happen right in front of me quite a few times when shopping near the back doors there. There are often workers in the left side of the building that collect the items who make this decision and they are lazy on this decision on what stays and goes and mostly throw away everything and only put a few crappy items out to make them look busy. The manager there seems to not care about this and lets them do what they want. The donation collectors are basically garbage men working at a thrift store and dont care at all. So if you think you items are going for a good cause or to be re-used you could not be so wrong. Why waste a trip and time? If you dont want to bring anything there put your items on the sidewalk, take a picture with your free downloadable Craigslist for Android and Apple app devices and let other people make those decisions on what to take. All you need is at least one picture. It is so much easier too. When garbage day comes around they will clean up the rest and it us usually stuff no one wants. Take the rest of that stuff to Savers Danvers in a tape seal box and drop it off if the garbage men dont take it. They will not know the difference. Check out the YELP SAVERS Danvers homepage and read the comments as well as the hidden comments which are on the grey area at the bottom of the comments. You will find a lot if interesting facts in there. If you are a buyer there just remember that you are buying someone else s junk that was probably taken from a garbage pile and you are paying good money for it. Ask the manger for a discount if you think the price is too high. He will often give you a bargain if you are at the checkout and ask the cashier.
