HISTORY: I bought the cage with the original 2.5” casters without accessories. Purchased the following from the pet shop to make it ready for birds: 1. two heavy-duty wooden perches with washers, nuts, and bolts 2. two outside perches on the top of the cage. When birds are ready to live outside the cage, they use the perch on top of the cage. 3. 3 hanging white plastic rings as a toy to play with 4. one hanging wood and cotton strings knotted tie. 5. one hanging 6-piece wooden ball and sticks with bell 6. the wheelchair for the cage. DIMENSIONS: • 24” wide • 24” length • 49.5” height on original casters. • 56.5 inches is the total NEW HEIGHT of the cage from floor to top because of WHEELCHAIR WHEELS. SPECIFICATION: 1. one main door 23.5” long x 11” wide, to take the grill in and out for cleaning 2. three small doors for food and water pots 3. three built-in potholders for food and water 4. two pull-and-push trays with handles for easy handling 5. one white plastic sheet for the tray for easy and quick cleaning of pee and poo, keeping the tray clean. CUSTOMIZATION: Heavy metal cages on small office-chair-sized casters don’t roll smoothly and are hard to maneuver, especially on rough surfaces. To roll more easily, smoothly, and faster, I have customized the heavy-duty, sturdy metal large flight cage as follows: • 7-in long front swivel wheels • 24-in long rear wheels • Hand brakes on both the big wheels for parking. I replaced the cage’s small 2.5” casters with adult wheelchair wheels for smooth movement around the house and backyard, and for long walks in the neighborhood or the park. Wherever you go, people are drawn to the birds in the mobile cage; they love it, and you get plenty of thanks. Good for jogging. Great for seniors’ walking and recreational exercise. You can also use the cage for smaller birds like canaries, finches, or parakeets by installing a narrow-mesh screen so they cant escape. The difference depends on whether you use a mobile or a hand-carry cage, the cages weight, the walking distance, how long you can hand-carry the birds in the cage, and your endurance, including health benefits and hazards. The standard wheelchair carries 350 lbs., which is hard to imagine on a cage with tiny 2.5” casters, and it’s impractical. It’s one of a kind and a source of pride, offering walking and jogging opportunities that promote health and happiness for bird lovers of all ages.
