Wonderful, unique and rare set of 3 vintage bar stools designed by celebrated Dutch designer Ruud-Jan Kokke. The stools are beautifully constructed in black, lacquered solid hardwood with stainless steel lower legs and support bars. The seats are comprised of repeated wooden slats in a folded, contoured form that showcases Kokkes iconic architectural style. * Designer: Ruud-Jan Kokke * Item: Set of 3 matching bar stools * Style: Minimalism / Modernist / Dutch Design * Period: 1980s * Origin: Made in Holland (Netherlands) * Material: Black lacquered hardwood framework combined with stainless steel lower legs and support bars. * Seat Structure: Distinct, ergonomically slatted seat configuration formed by repeated wooden slats aligned in a slightly folded, contoured shape for seated comfort. * Total Height: 30 7/8 * Seat Height: 29 1/8 * Width: 16 7/8 * Depth: 15 1/4 The bar stools present in very good vintage condition for their age. There are a couple of very small chips and minor nicks here and there from light use over the years, but nothing overtly noticeable, they exhibit extremely light wear entirely commensurate with age. The stools are structurally sturdy, very comfortable, and display beautifully. I purchased this set at auction about 10 years ago. They have been lightly used, sat upon infrequently, and kept in a smoke-free home. I have recently moved and unfortunately no longer have a suitable counter space for them. Ruud-Jan Kokke Ruud-Jan Kokke is a Dutch designer born in 1956 known for his minimalist furniture, architectural steelwork and public spaces in the tradition of Gerrit Rietveld. He studied at the Sociale Academie and the Academy of Fine Arts Arnhem and his design philosophy focuses on material honesty, functional simplicity and structural inventiveness rather than fleeting fashion. His work is featured in the permanent collections of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
