RARE BRASS HINGE DÉCOR Antique circa 1900 Oak Side/Dining Table Chair
RARE BRASS HINGE DÉCOR Antique circa 1900 Solid Oak Side / Dining Table Chair, Exc! Cond! CHARACTERISTICS- (I can send more pics of any feature of the chair on request.) I have never seen this decorative feature of faux solid brass hinges on the upper backrest both sides, beautiful. I have been unable so far in my research to determine if this faux brass hinge décor has any known/established style name/s, do you know?? The chair type itself is a typical flat back solid oak side or dining table chair, with the deluxe feature of the front and sides having 3 horizontal support bars instead of often only 2 horizontal support bars on all 4 sides, see all pics. MEASUREMENTS & CONDITION- The chair measures 48” tall to the top most of the 2 main vertical posts, and the seat (excluding the upholstering cushion) measures 14” long/deep, 17” wide at the front edge, 15” wide at the back edge, and the seat is 17.5” high from the floor at the front top edge,16.75” high from the floor at the back top edge. Let me know if you need any other measurements. The chair is in overall excellent condition. There are no chips or cracks, and all the joints are tight. The solid brass hinge decor plates have been recently polished. I have cleaned ( it was not that dirty at all) and then restored the original dark brown finish. The light green upholstering material on the seat cushion I would guess is not original, looks contemporary. It is a fairly simple reupholstering job to change out this green material for a more historically accurate material; I would probably choose dark brown leather. Maybe you need this chair to complete your set, and would change the seat cushion material accordingly. FREE LOCAL AREA DELIVERY- I am in the Port Angeles city limits. You can pick-up here at the house. I can deliver for free to the Port Angeles-Sequim area. I can deliver to the Port Townsend area for $20, and to the greater Tacoma/Seattle/Everett area for $60, or less if you are on this side/no ferry required, such as Bainbridge, Poulsbo, etc., UNLESS I AM DRIVING TO THE TACOMA-SEATTLE-EVERETT AREA ANYWAY, THEN DELIVERY WOULD BE FREE ON THAT DAY OF TRAVEL. SHIPPING- I know that UPS Ground is very expensive; I once shipped a 1930s rare arm chair to another state for around $500 including their packing fee. However, I hear of people shipping chairs/furniture much cheaper via Greyhound, and also supposedly someone shipped a chair USPS for only $40, but I don’t understand how that is possible as when I asked USPS they said they don’t ship furniture, and $40 is unbelievably cheap. But I can ask my local post office again about shipping furniture. With all this mind, you will have to instruct me how you want the chair shipped; I only know how to get an accurate shipping price quote from my local UPS Store for UPS Ground shipping if you give me your ship to address. Also, I don’t pack furniture for shipping, so you will have to pay for professional packing which as I recall is not that expensive; I can find out exactly how much my local UPS Store would charge to pack this chair, just ask.
