Word of Mouth – Private Chef & Fine Catering San Francisco Bay Area | Part-Time / Flexible | Opportunity to Grow WEBSITE: wordofmouthcatering.co Word of Mouth is building a culinary team for a different kind of catering company. We bring the precision, discipline and sophistication of fine dining to healthy, everyday food for high-performing teams and individuals across the Bay Area. Our clients include founders, executives and teams at some of the Bay Area’s highest-performing companies. They expect excellence from themselves, and we expect the same from our kitchen. WHO WERE LOOKING FOR We are particularly interested in cooks who have worked in 2- or 3-Michelin-star restaurants or comparable fine-dining kitchens. We value technique, but we care just as much about the mentality behind it. Precision. Commitment. Passion. Discipline. Consistency. We want cooks who understand that doing something properly matters — whether youre preparing a composed dinner for 10 guests or roasting vegetables for 100 people. Someone who seasons with intention. Someone who notices the details. Someone who keeps their station organized without being asked. Someone who understands that consistency is part of craftsmanship. Someone who takes pride in doing simple things exceptionally well. WE WORK HARD — AND WE ENJOY IT People who work with us dont just come to work — they enjoy the work. We take what we do seriously, but we dont take ourselves too seriously. Our events are demanding, precise and fast-paced, but theyre also full of energy, laughter and genuinely good times. For us, this is more than a job. Its a lifestyle weve chosen because we love food, hospitality, people and the experiences that come with them. We work hard, we have fun doing it, and were building a team of people who want to live that same way. WHAT WE COOK Our food is sophisticated but not unnecessarily complicated. We focus on high-quality proteins, seasonal vegetables, grains, legumes, fresh herbs, thoughtful sauces and locally sourced ingredients. The objective is to take the standards and techniques of fine dining and apply them to food people can eat regularly — healthy, beautiful, precise and deeply satisfying. No shortcuts. No careless cooking. THE ROLE Depending on experience, responsibilities may include: Protein, fish and vegetable preparation Sauce and component production Butchery and portioning High-volume production with strict consistency Plating and finishing for private events Corporate catering production Maintaining organization and cleanliness throughout service Receiving and respecting high-quality ingredients Helping establish systems and standards as our culinary team grows THE PERSON You may be a strong fit if you: Have experience in Michelin-starred or serious fine-dining kitchens Have strong fundamentals and knife skills Work clean and organized Understand mise en place and preparation Are punctual and dependable Can execute repeatedly without sacrificing quality Stay composed when production gets demanding Take feedback seriously Care about the final product even when nobody is watching Ego is not important here. Standards are. We are looking for people who cook with heart and intention and want to work alongside others who approach their craft the same way. WHERE WERE GOING Word of Mouth is growing. We are building a team around the belief that healthy food does not need to be ordinary — and that the discipline found in the worlds best kitchens can be brought into the way people eat every day. For the right people, this can become much more than occasional catering shifts. We want to build a core culinary team and create opportunities for greater responsibility as the company grows. TO APPLY Please send: Your name and phone number Restaurants youve worked at and your positions How long you worked at each Your current availability Where youre based A short note about what you care about most when you cook A formal cover letter isnt necessary. We care more about where youve cooked, what youve learned, and the standards you hold yourself to. Word of Mouth – Private Chef & Fine Catering We Nourish High Performers.
