Traveling Man Treasures is selling this classic 1960s Moroccan camel saddle stool featuring a dark-stained wood frame, brass stud accents, and a distinctive black-and-white cushioned seat. The piece is in good condition with normal age-related wear. These pieces were originally designed as functional equipment for nomadic desert travel and camel racing across North Africa and the Middle East. However, from the late 1950s through the 1970s, they exploded in popularity as a major mid-century interior design trend. Souvenirs and export models (like this one) were produced in Morocco and Egypt, finding homes globally as exotic footstools, vanity benches, or bohemian accent seating.
