The straight lines, tight structural angles, and uniform knuckles or nodes were meticulously turned on a lathe and reeded to give the structural strength of a hardwood chair while perfectly disguising it as bamboo. The sweeping, intricate loops in the center are crafted from flexible, genuine split cane/rattan reeds that were steamed, shaped, and anchored directly into the wooden framework.
