Some basses want to be taken seriously. This one wants to know where the keg is. Meet Rock-A-Billy Chutie — an early-2000s Squier Affinity P Bass that apparently took a wrong turn somewhere around 2004 and has spent the rest of her life making increasingly questionable decisions. She is not a vintage Fender. She is not a pristine collectors piece. She is not going to meet your parents. Shes a Squier P Bass with a fake Fender-era headstock decal, a seriously abused black finish, a custom pin-up pickguard, flatwound strings, and enough attitude to get thrown out of a perfectly respectable establishment. And honestly? Thats the point. SHES BEEN AROUND. Cigarette burns. Road rash. Scrapes. Bruises. Exposed wood. Finish scars. The kind of cosmetic damage that makes a guitar guy stop and ask, “What the hell happened to this thing?” We dont know. We dont want to know. Shes not a relic. Relics are supposed to recreate history. This is what happens when history gets drunk. Think: Andy Warhol at a punk show. Rockabilly trash culture. Garage-band mythology. Dive-bar glamour. Heavy metal attitude. Three chords and a bad idea. The custom pin-up graphic doesnt exactly calm things down. Neither does the little gray-glass shrunken-head good-luck charm hanging from the headstock. Because obviously every bass needs one. BUT HERES THE SECRET: Under all that beautiful bad behavior is a perfectly functional P-style bass that knows exactly what its job is. Plug it in. Turn it up. Pound the low end. The flatwound strings give it that smooth, fat, old-school thump while the P-style pickup delivers the familiar punch that made this design a staple of rock, punk, blues and everything that lives somewhere between “musician” and “public nuisance.” This is the bass for: Punk rock Rockabilly Garage rock Heavy metal Blues Dive-bar bands First gigs Last gigs Bands whose rehearsal space has questionable electrical wiring A NOTE ABOUT THE COSMETICS Read this part. The body has extensive intentional distressing and additional wear. There are scratches, exposed wood, finish loss and other evidence of a hard life. The Fender headstock decal is not original and should be considered part of the custom aesthetic. This is being sold honestly as an early-2000s Squier Affinity P Bass that has been heavily customized and cosmetically abused for its current look. It is not being represented as an original Fender. And thats okay. Because nobody buys this thing because they need another sensible bass. They buy it because theyve got a story in their head that starts the moment they see it. INCLUDED • Squier Affinity P Bass • Custom punk/pin-up pickguard • Flatwound strings • Gig bag • Gray-glass shrunken-head good-luck charm Tetanus shot: not required. Highly recommended anyway. Somewhere out there is a 17-year-old kid with a cheap amp, three chords, a busted garage and a dream of playing his first shitty dive bar. This is his bass. Or maybe youre 47. Maybe youre 57. Maybe you already have fourteen basses. Maybe you absolutely do not need another one. Perfect. Hang it on the wall. Put it next to the old motorcycle helmet. Put it in the basement next to the jukebox. Put it in your studio and let people wonder what happened. Or better yet— take the damn thing to a gig and give her another chapter. Shes already survived this much. God knows what shell do next. $279 Gig bag included. Whizztone Co. Instruments with a little more story left in them.

A warm, character‑rich full‑size violin labeled **“Made for William Lewis and Son, Chicago Illinois, in Germany.”** These instruments were imported by the historic Chicago firm known for sourcing quality German workshop violins throughout the early–mid 20th century. The reddish‑brown varnish, graceful arching, and authentic patina give this piece both musical and decorative appeal. ### 🏷️ Maker, Label and Number - Interior label confirms German workshop production for William Lewis and Son. - The number **6344** aligns with the shop’s internal inventory/model numbering used on many of their imported violins. - German‑made Lewis instruments were typically produced in respected workshop regions such as Mittenwald or Markneukirchen, known for reliable craftsmanship and consistent tone. ### 🕰️ Likely Production Era The label style, varnish tone, and construction characteristics point to an early–mid 20th century origin, most commonly **1920s–1950s**. ### 🧰 Condition - **Body:** Attractive vintage patina with age‑appropriate oxidation and wear. - **Strings:** One string missing. - **Bridge:** The light‑colored piece is the standard maple bridge used on all violins—normal, intentional, and not a repair. - **Case:** Included; exterior is worn and best suited for storage or transport protection. - **Bow:** Newer‑era Glasser bow with a hairline crack in the plastic frog area; functional but best considered “serviceable with repair.” - **Overall:** A solid vintage violin needing light setup work to return to play. ### 📏 Size - **Body length:** 13 - **Overall length:** 22 - **Classification:** **Full‑size (4/4) violin** ### 🎼 Playability and Use With a new string, a bridge/soundpost check, and bow service, this violin should be playable for student or practice use. Bad Cat Hot Cat 15R. Handwired and Made in the USA in early 2010s. 2-EL84 power tubes, 7-12AX7 preamp and a tube rectifier. Great if you’re looking for the vox-type sound, made in the USA with a very high build quality and with a second channel that gets into high gain territory. The amp was originally a combo but the tolex had gotten severely worn and the combo was heavy, so I put it in a headshell I got directly from the Bad Cat factory. The amp is the two channel version with individual master volumes, which really helps a lot with this amp. It is a very loud 15 watts and generally I would use it in the 7 watt mode when gigging with a modern PA, and at 15 watts without a PA (switchable on the back). The channels are footswitchable or alternatively you can plug into each input for each channel and it will automatically select the one you plug into. This version also has a mid eq. This version has reverb controls for both channels but the reverb tank is currently not hooked up. There is space for it in the cabinet but I wanted to make sure the amp had enough air flow. The original reverb tank is included but won’t be installed in the head. The amp is in excellent working condition and sounds great on both channels. Cosmetically it is in very good shape with a little wear to the exterior and handle. $1,600 E-mail or text to buy. I’m located in Fresno but I can meet between Santa Clarita and Anaheim (ideally close to the 5) for serious buyers. Just let me know where you are located and availability. Not looking for trades.

Lots of extra 1/4 inch cables of various sizes thrown in to the mix. M Audio 410 works and was in smoke free home. This is remnants of my old studio equipment. So if you are a DJ or like mixing DO NOT pass this up. Just the extra cables al 1 would probably run you 50 dollars. This is a steal for the 1 S in the know. Text Jon @ 682-777-1753

Great mandolin. Its almost 25 years old so some call it vintage. Its in great shape and really sounds nice since its hand carved all solid wood and stands out in a crowd. Note for note is very articulate and also nice tone and volume when strumming for backup. Comes with nice hardshell case that fits perfectly. Set up to play easily all the way up the neck. Also included is nice black leather shoulder strap. Local and CASH only. I live in Wimberley and will gladly meet you halfway somewhere public to save you a drive.

This bass is right about 28 years old and it has been played. As such, she carries signs of use and wear, although none of them effect playability in anyway. Beginning with the top of the body, the pickup cover shows signs of string contact particularly from the 3rd and 2nd stings. There are some very superficial scratches on the top but not many. they should definitely buff out if you’re of a mind to do so. There are some swirls around the base of the control knobs but they don’t really show in the photos Nothing to note around the neck pocket or the inside of the horns. The edge of the body is dent/ding free with just a slight scuffing between the bottom strap button and output jack. The back has a fair amount of superficial buckle rash that at certain angles gives a hazy sheen in the center of the back there is a small ding close to the cavity cover, but the Color and wood are indisturbed. The satin finish on the back of the neck is well worn, making it very comfortable to play. the frets are in great shape, smooth fret ends and only a couple very shallow divots on the first couple of frets. Nothing that strings will hang up on, just signs of jamming. The finger board is in very good shape. There is also a decades old crack on the head stock that runs vertical with the grain, but not all the way through front to back. It is one the bass side of the headstock. This is not a crack the runs left to right that often ends in the headstock breaking off. The previous owner played this bass as is for over 20 years and said it has been very stable as it was there when he bought it back after the turn of the century. Please look at the photos closely as they can explain it better than I can. If the integrity of the wood in the headstock concerns you any at all, as a woodworker since 1987, I’d recommend having some Tite-Bond wood glue thinned out with water and injected into it with a 23 gauge or smaller hypodermic needle and syringe. I have reinforced many components of high end furniture this way when I’ve seen a similar flaw. Having seen this in many pieces of wood over the years, I am confident that it is a non-issue. It isn’t called a “Growler” due to being your typical four string bass. It is not. This boutique bass earned its name from a fierce, low-mid snarl that cuts like a chainsaw through any dense mix. Built during the highly regarded late-90s production era in Nashville, Tennessee, it bypasses standard, cookie-cutter factory specs in favor of true master-built innovation. From its patented asymmetrical neck profile—which is hand-carved thinner on the treble side to mirror the natural anatomy of your hand—to the premium, multi-laminate Maple and Purpleheart construction, every single contour is designed for effortless speed and devastating performance. But the real magic lies under the hood. The Electronics The Pickup & Blend The Growler uses a single, giant quad-coil Bartolini pickup that handles frequencies with incredible precision. The Blend (Pan) control lets you sweep seamlessly between the front half of the pickup (for that fat, rounded neck-tone) and the back half (for punchy, bridge-position bite). Dual Channels (The Bass Geek Secret) Here is where the magic happens: the bass has two separate, independent channels. Instead of just one global Bass and Treble knob, the Growler has stacked knobs that give you dedicated Bass and Treble cut/boost for the frontcoils and the back coils respectively. This means you can dial in massive low-end on the neck coils while simultaneously dialing in a crisp, bright treble on the bridge coils. The Contour Switches Flanking the EQ knobs are two 3-way mini-toggle switches (one for each coil half). These allow for incredibly quick tone-shaping: Up Position (Low/Mid Boost): Thickens the sound, adding great weight and presence. Middle Position (Flat): Bypasses the contour module for a completely neutral, transparent tone. Down Position (Scooped/Slap): Drops the mids and boosts the highs and lows, which is ideal for achieving that articulate ultimate slap tone. Power & Output The system is powered by an 18-volt battery configuration Powered by two 9 volt batteries. This setup provides more headroom, ensuring the lowest, rumbling bass notes are reproduced with absolute clarity without distorting or clipping. The Build Specs Model: Tobias Growler 4-String Body Wood: Solid Swamp Ash (ergononically contoured) Neck Wood: 3-piece laminate (Hard Maple with a Purpleheart center strip) Neck Profile: Proprietary Tobias Asymmetrical design (thinner on the treble side for ergonomic playability) Neck Joint: Bolt-on (deeply recessed heel-less design for upper-fret access) Fingerboard: Wenge Frets: 24 cleanly seated frets (double-octave range) Scale Length: 34 inches (standard long scale) Nut Width: 1.614 inches / 41 millimeters Nut Material: Genuine Bone Pickup: Single Bartolini Quad-Coil humbucker Preamp: Custom Bartolini 18-Volt dual-channel system Controls: Master Volume, Pan/Blend knob, two dual-concentric (stacked) Bass/Treble EQ pots, and two 3-way mini-toggle Slap/Contour switches Hardware: Black die-cast Gotoh compact tuners and a high-mass top-loading bridge Finish: Premium Factory Upgraded Transparent Red Gloss (Polyester) While the vast majority of mid-90s USA Growlers were shipped in standard Satin Natural, this specific instrument features the highly coveted, Premium Factory Transparent Red finish.
