POSITION DESCRIPTION: Ombudsman is a Swedish word meaning “representative of the people”. As an Assisted Living Residence (ALR) Ombudsman Program Manager, you work to develop, administer, and oversee the Regional ALR Ombudsman services and promote its philosophy of advocating and maintaining assisted living residents rights. The ALR Ombudsman Program Manager works closely with the Executive Office of Health and Human Services State Ombudsman Unit to ensure that requirements are fulfilled as outlined in the federal Older Americans Act, statewide long-term care Ombudsman regulations and policies, and Host agency designation agreement. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree required, with a degree in social work or a related field preferred. 3-5 years experience working with the older adults and/or the disability population preferred. Experience in supervisory role or demonstrated leadership experience preferred. A positive attitude, flexibility, and ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities. Strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and collaborative work style. Knowledge of computer software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
