I dont know if these are Thonet chairs, but they are nearly identical to the Thonet S33 and Desta ST11 chairs designed by Mart Stam. The S33 has a chrome frame with a moulded plywood back and seat, while mine have chrome frames with an anatomically-contoured steel seat and steel back that curve along the same lines as the S33. My guess is that these were manufactured circa 1930. The black finish on the seats and backs of my chairs seems to be a hard, baked-on plastic or incredibly-durable lacquer paint. It is chipped in some places, and slightly cracked in some others due to age, but the major blemishes have been touched up, and all of the surfaces can be sat upon without concern. There are also countless little dots of minor surface corrosion on the chromed frames, but most can be scraped off with a fingernail, and therefore, a good polishing by hand should make them even prettier than than they are at present. As for their age, I dont know how old they are, but all of the screws are made for a flat head screwdriver, and so that, combined with the fact that Ive found it impossible to locate more like them, indicates that they are definitely the real deal. This beautiful solid wood piece is very high quality, made by Thomasville furniture. It’s vintage and has a lot of style. Can be used as a TV stand or credenza , sideboard along with a dresser. This piece has been professionally refinished in this lovely blue color, the top has been stripped to bare wood and re-stain, and then sealed. This piece features nine drawers, three of which are out of view, hidden behind a pair of doors in the center. All nine drawers work perfectly, the drawer bodies are also made out of solid wood, and have the desired dovetail joinery. I use only premium finishes including clear coat to seal the finish, the products do cost more upfront, especially now a days but the end results are well worth it. I also use top of the line spray equipment to achieve the best results possible.. I have been a pro woodworker since mid 1990s and have been doing the Furniture thing since 2007 when I built my wood shop. Overall, it measures 77.5 inches wide, 32 inches tall, 20 inches deep. Here’s the general consensus, many folks who purchase from me thank me for doing this, they typically say they are sick and tired of the low quality stuff that doesn’t last and cost a fortune at all the furniture shops. I choose to refinish only the best quality vintage pieces, and will drive a great distance to acquire them, one by one.
