Vintage Steelcase 451 4-Star Base Chairs Matching Pair Olive Green $895 OBO 🫒 Olive/Avocado Green • Chrome 4-Star Bases • Mid-Century Modern • Tufted • Fabric Upholstery and unmistakably 1970s. A fantastic matching pair of vintage Steelcase 451 4-Star Base chairs circa 1975, featuring beautifully period-correct olive/avocado green upholstery, sculpted bucket-style shells and architectural four-star chrome pedestal bases. These are the kind of chairs that can completely change a room. With their low, wide profile, gently sculpted seats and button-tufted backs, they have that unmistakable 1970s Mid-Century Modern / Space Age executive aesthetic. The design is reminiscent of the celebrated modernist executive seating of the Pollock era, while the substantial construction is classic vintage Steelcase. The star here is the color: a wonderfully retro olive/avocado green textured fabric that looks fantastic against the polished chrome bases and black shell surrounds. Each chair features: • Sculpted upholstered bucket seat • Four-button tufted backrest • Original-style olive/avocado textured upholstery • Black molded outer shell • Chrome pedestal • 4-star stationary chrome base with floor glides • Matching construction and upholstery VINTAGE STEELCASE Steelcase has been producing commercial and executive furniture for more than a century, and these chairs come from a particularly great period of American office design when corporate furniture wasnt afraid to have some personality. The silhouette has a definite Pollock-inspired / 1970s executive modernist feel without being a reproduction of a Charles Pollock chair. Put them in a home office, conversation area, living room, creative studio or lounge and they instantly bring some vintage architectural character to the space. APPROXIMATE DETAILS Maker: Steelcase Model: 451 Era: Circa 1970s Style: Mid-Century Modern / Space Age / Executive Modernist Color: Olive / Avocado Green Upholstery: Textured fabric Base: Chrome 4-star stationary pedestal with glides Height: Approx. 34 Length: Approx. 22 Quantity: 2 — sold as a matching pair CONDITION The chairs are in very good vintage condition and present beautifully as a pair. The upholstery retains its fantastic period color and tufted appearance, while the chrome bases show the character and light age-related wear expected from authentic vintage furniture. Please review the photographs closely as they form part of the condition description. WHY BUY ONE WHEN YOU CAN HAVE THE PAIR? Matching vintage seating is becoming increasingly difficult to find, and these two have stayed together. Theyre bold enough to anchor a room without being over-the-top—and the olive green and chrome combination is about as authentically 1970s cool as it gets. Sold together as a matching pair.

Reviews: -Great experience with Morgan. Came in looking for 2 mattresses, 1 for me and 1 for my daughter who is just finishing college and needs a grown up bed. 11/20/23 He was super patient and knowledgeable, helping me find things that fit in my budget. The shop is tight, but totally packed with options from the best names. I felt confident both in his service but also the mattresses he had. 11/10/23 I found 1 for each of us, had them delivered next day. Delivery was prompt and courteous. They unwrapped my mattress and put it in my frame and hauled my old 1 away. But it wasn’t quite right for me. So a week later, I came back. He helped me try a few 10 or so lolmore to make sure I was getting the right fit based on my feedback of my old bed and the 1 I needed to exchange. 11/4/23 Made it all work, redelivered the new mattress, and didn’t charge me an arm and a leg for any of it. I will definitely send people here. And hopefully he’s around in another 7-10 years when I need my next bed. Thanks Morgan! Rachael 10/3/23 -Great people, great customer service. Richard helped us out and did such a great job finding the perfect mattress! Morgan was so sweet in working with us and bringing us the bed same night. I’m almost 9 months pregnant so getting the mattress same night was so important. Pricing is so amazing here, 100/10 recommended for every 1 looking for a good priced mattress. Mad B. 10/2/23 -Shout out to Richard for helping my wife and I look for a new mattress! The selection is amazing and the customer Service was top notch they are even delivering it after hours! Above and beyond will highly recommend to my family and friends Eli 10/2/23 -Best place in Portland to get a mattress on a budget. They have a large variety of mattresses to choose from. Everything from Purple mattresses to Sealy mattresses and many more. Stop by and check them out before you go to the over priced mattress stores. Lastly, they’ll deliver your new mattress and remove your old 1 Drake 9/28/23 -Morgan was extremely helpful in getting us 22 new mattresses delivered before I arrived to my new home in Gresham. After 2 days of driving when all I wanted to do was collapse in a brand new bed, Morgan made it all happen over the phone within the same business day. He’s got a great selection of some top-tier labelsTempurpedic, KLUFT!and made it all happen with excellent service and communication. Cannot recommend Morgan’s Mattresses enough! 11/10 Armando 9/24/23 -You know the feeling when a business exceeds your expectations? Its kind of a rare thing these days, but it seems like standard operating mode at Morgans Mattresses. From the moment I walked in, Morgan was on a mission to help me find the perfect mattress. He listened to what I was looking for, worked within my budget, and I ended up with a great deal on a high quality mattress that was delivered the same dayand they hauled my old 1 away so I didnt have to deal with it. I had kept putting off mattress shopping because I assumed it would be a hassle, but Morgan made the whole process so easy. He runs his business with integrity, kindness and expertise, and provides great value to his customers. He went above & beyond, like it was no big deal. Have already recommended this place to others. Thanks again, Morgan! Lenka 9/20/23 -My partner and I wanted to shop local and we passed by Morgans mattresses daily. When we arrived we were greeted by Morgan and immediately he got to work! After looking at a couple mattresses I told him how most of the time we sit on the edge of our bed to watch TV so we need a lot of side support. And with that he started bringing us mattresses with extra side support. And thats when we fell in love with our mattress! Very friendly very quick. After reviewing our address gave us a fair price for delivering the mattress and was able to deliver it same day! If you need a mattress go see Morgan at Morgans mattresses! Teri 9/2/23 -I’m glad that I went here to buy my mattress, the guy that helped me was so friendly and super nice and kind, he helped pick out the best mattress for me !!! We were looking for a California king size mattress and found 1 we liked for a great price. Turns out when we placed it on our bed, the bed frame was a kingnot California king. We asked if we could exchange for a difference size. Morgan was willing to work with us and offered us 1 of the best mattresses for a great deal. Also they offer same day/ or next day delivery which is awesome! Highly recommend! Yulita 5/15/23 -We needed a bed and we needed 1 quick, we recently moved into a studio on the 3 rd floor and Morgan himself and 1 of his helpers got our queen bed up the narrow flight of winding stairs, not only that but Morgan and his employees gave great customer service, and even gave us an amazing deal on a more expensive mattress so that it fit our budget!Delivery included!Needless to say I am very impressed and very thankful! Thank you Morgan’s Mattresses! Jessica 5/2/23 -These guys are fantastic. I so feel lucky to have found this business. Morgan is so h 1 st and very clearly wants to do his best for his customers, and it shows. Before you buy a mattress here, do your research and find a model that you love, then come to Morgan. I stayed at a rental home and fell in love with the mattress we had there. I called up Morgan, and he had 1 in stock. I went to check it out in the afternoon at 3:30 pm and no later than 7 pm it was delivered to my home, moved in, and set up. I got everything I neededmattress, box spring, bed frame, deliveryfor less than half of what it would have cost me to buy directly through the brand. What a great experience - Ill be referring every 1 I know here! Emily 2/17/23 -Amazing place to get a bed. He came out same day set up the bed took our other 1 went above and beyond for us and his beds and service is so great we appreciated it. I would recommend any 1 to Morgans! Amy 05/15/21 -Thanks Morgan for hooking me up with such a killer deal! Delivery and installation amazing ! James 04/29/21 -Great prices… Great service… Great product… I don’t know why you would spend a bunch of m 1 y anywhere else for the same product...Highly recommended Jason 04/28/21 -Very nice, very helpful, h 1 st, and willing to work with whatever budget you have. Delivered that same day and was very fast. I definitely recommend going here, no run around, nor price gouging. Brand new bed cant beat the price and experience. Greatly appreciated the same day delivery as well! Thank you so much! R.C. 04/28/21 -Excellent value, super comfortable mattress and stellar customer service, thanks Morgan!! Scott 04/08/21 -Hey man straight - up. !! Morgan is great a person to deal with and even greater deals to be had..we purchased mattresses for the whole family in January 2021 its been 2 months and they pass the test . the staff was very helpful also..Thanks again to Morgans Mattress!! Bj 1 s 03/27/21 -Morgan will take care of you. We actually didnt end up getting a mattress from here but Morgan did everything he could to help us. We just couldnt find 1 that would fit us. If they dont have what you are looking for in-store, he will see what they have in the wherehouse. Dont hesitate to stop by and see what they have, their stock changes constantly. Mark 03/26/21 -My fiancé and I went to a big mattress store before checking out Morgans and are SO glad that we purchased from here instead. There is no big show room and the parking was a little tight but the prices and customer service was worth it! We ended up buying a cali king TempurPedic mattress after looking at some king beds they had. James and another gentlemen were super helpful and not pushy at all. We put the majority down and financed a small amount but the process was easy and we have slept better in the last week than we have in years. We have already recommended Morgans to a friend and will continue to! Carleigh 03/04/21 -Cant recommend this place enough. We got a screaming deal on a Tempur Pedic and he delivered just a couple hours later. Very friendly, very positive experience. Id easily recommend this place to my friends and family. Allen 02/05/21 -Small shop, but the best deals Ive seen. And they do credit for lower income households. Have bought 2 beds from them. Will definitely go back if I need more and will recommend to every 1. Angelique 01/16/21 -Dont even bother shopping at other stores.seriously!Just go see Morgan and Jay and Richard. Or call ahead if youve shopped and you know what model youre looking for - its a smallish store; but, with a warehouse nearby, they can probably get you exactly what you want. The prices and service will definitely make you happy! Im actually pretty proud of the deal I got: I saved many hundreds off retail! Delivery was reasonable, on time, by Morgan himself, and he took my old mattress away. H 1 stly, this was the best big-item purchase Ive made in a long time: my new Stearns and Foster was both a splurge and a bargain and Im extremely satisfied and SLEEPING GREAT! - Thank You SO MUCH Guys! Tengo 01/04/21 -Im going to be h 1 st, I thought the deal was to good to be true and let me just say how very happy I am with Morgan and his guys! H 1 stly I couldnt have had a better experience. A must look at! Great deals and super easy to work with. No credit needed. Absolutely the best decision. I ended up going in and coming out with 2 brand new mattress and delivery the same day! RARE AND EXQUISITE, HIGHLY DESIRED VINTAGE GEM!! EARLY MID CENTURY 1940s GILBERT ROHDE (for HERMAN MILLER) SLIPPER CHAIR!! Height: 29 inches Width: 39 inches Depth: 27 inches Seat Height: 14 inches Yes, this is an actual 1940s Herman Miller piece! This was designed by Gilbert Rohde, who basically was the most influential part of the Herman Miller company being a huge part of the mid-century modern era from the late 1930s all the way up through the 1970s. Notice how wide the oval seat on this cool chair is. It can easily sit two people. That’s basically like a swanky version of a loveseat. And the long stretched wing back is actually held up by the extended legs of the chair. Super cool concept. This is an authentic early 1940s piece. It does have the original velvet upholstery which is kind of like a darker canary-yellow. No rips or tears in the upholstery at all. No stains either. And it also does NOT smell like cigarette smoke. You will never find an original Gilbert Rohde slipper chair with the original upholstery. Any of these that you’ll find online or in a high-end vintage store has been salvaged and reupholstered. This is the only one that you’ll find that’s all original and untampered with. And it is still very sturdy. This chair was built like a tank. These authentic Gilbert Rohde slipper chairs, sell online anywhere from $3,200 all the way up to $9,500 just for one of them! Keep in mind this is an original piece that has not been reupholstered. Everything on it is original. I am asking $2,400 for the super cool piece! I can deliver to anywhere in Jacksonville. If you are located outside of Jacksonville, I can deliver this. I charge $60 an hour for my time on the road anywhere outside of Jacksonville to deliver to anywhere in Florida or Georgia. If you’d like to come see this in person, I’m located in Jacksonville, Florida, and the Arlington area near the Matthews Bridge
