There was a time in New York when where you sat mattered almost as much as who you were sitting with. At the legendary Four Seasons Restaurant—located on the ground floor of Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe’s monumental Seagram Building on Park Avenue and 53rd Street—a sea of Mies’s BRNO chairs surrounded the tables where New York’s most powerful, famous and glamorous people came to do what New Yorkers do best: have lunch, make deals, trade gossip and occasionally change the world. With these four magnificent authentic examples of the BRNO, you can create your own private little version of the Four Seasons. No power broker required; no expense-account lunch; no maître d’ deciding whether your table is sufficiently important. Just your own table, four spectacular Mies BRNOs, and perhaps something appropriately decadent to eat. (Dark chocolate mousse seems fitting.) Custom ordered in Knoll’s super premium upgrade “Sabrina” leather (an Italian hide with an extremely smooth and tight hand) in the color “Coffee Bean” (an otherworldly chocolate brown) and set atop gleaming polished-chrome flat-bar frames, all four chairs are in superb condition with just the slightest signs of gentle use over time. The foam inside all cushions remains perfectly strong and firm, the leather rich, clean and incredibly smooth, and the polished chrome frames bright, rust-free and almost blindingly lustrous. Super substantial and heavy. Each chair has the KnollStudio logo and the designer’s signature precision-engraved into the steel under the right armrest, and is also marked with a Knoll paper label and a recurring pattern of Knoll’s “K” logo covering the entire lining under the seat. A single chair in this exact configuration currently retails for a $4,840 plus shipping and tax — a whopping total of $5,703 *per chair*. Asking for $1,500 per chair or $5,600 for the full quartet, so you can take home the full set today and save over $15,000! Thank you for looking and please let us know us know if you have any questions. Additional info below for your reading pleasure, including some more deets about the BRNO’s special NYC comnection. CONDITION & ADDITIONAL INFO —Mies van der Rohe’s approach to design was famously reductive: eliminate everything unnecessary until what remains is so refined that it becomes inevitable. The BRNO is a perfect example. The chair’s distinctive flat-bar cantilever frame eliminates the need for conventional front legs, allowing the structure to curve gracefully beneath the seat. The result is a chair that appears almost to float. But the apparent simplicity is deceptive. Every proportion, every curve and every junction has been carefully considered. The structure isn’t hidden beneath decoration; the structure is the decoration. That is quintessential Mies. —Designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1930, the BRNO is one of the great icons of twentieth-century modernist furniture. But its New York story is particularly fabulous. When Philip Johnson was designing the interiors of the Four Seasons Restaurant in Mies’s newly completed Seagram Building on Park Avenue, he asked Knoll to put Mies’s Flat Bar BRNO into production specifically for the restaurant, with Mies’s approval. And so the BRNO became part of one of the most celebrated interiors in New York. —The Four Seasons wasn’t simply a restaurant. For decades, it was one of the city’s premier power-lunch destinations, where titans of business, publishing, entertainment, politics and culture gathered around tables beneath Philip Johnson’s architecture and Mies’s monumental Seagram Building. The furniture became part of the mythology. And the BRNO was right there in the middle of it. —Around a dining table, they are particularly spectacular. Their low, horizontal profile and sweeping cantilevered frames complement a beautiful table rather than competing with it. Put them around marble and you’ve conjured the magic of mid-century NYC. — All four chairs are in superb, showroom-quality condition, with just a few scattered scuffs that are hard to notice unless you’re looking for them and are almost entirely on the back side of the chairs. There is no notable damage, staining or other condition issue to detract from their presentation. The chairs present beautifully from every angle.

Up for sale is a very awesome media console. I don’t want to sell it, but my wife has informed me that it doesn’t match anything in our house. Before we got married, it matched everything in my old apartment… Anyway, it has plenty of storage for movies, video games, media players, game consoles, you name it. Condition is great, everything works including the soft close drawers. There is some light scuffing on the top left side where I kept a small tree in a pot. If it were a guitar, I’d call it “buckle rash.” Very light and hardly noticeable. Just want to be honest. This thing is very well made, and you guessed it, pretty heavy. I’m happy to help load it into your vehicle. These retail for $986. I’d like $200 for it. I’m also open to trades. If you’re a musician and have a guitar or bass guitar you want to trade, try me. I’m also cool with any studio or recording gear you might want to offer for it. Let me know.
