Loevsky & Loevsky 1960s MCM crystal and metal table lamp with original silk shade Chelsea, Michigan - mid-century modern (MCM) crystal lamp by Loevsky & Loevsky White Metal Castings (L&LWMC). It features several distinct characteristics typical of L&L WMC designs: 1. Crystal Tiers: The lamp has multiple tiers of crystal prisms, adding to its opulent and elegant appearance. There are a complete set of all 384 original dangling dazzling crystals all in mint condition. 2. Ornate Metalwork: The base and other structural elements have intricate gold-colored metalwork, reflecting the Hollywood Regency style. 3. Shade: The lamp shade is all original. Original silk drum has a large, pinch pleated fabric shade with scalloped edges and gold trim. The fabric is in very nice vintage condition with minor fabric deterioration in a small area as shown in photo. Measures 43.5” tall with shade. Shade measures 20” tall and 17” diameter. Bottom stamping L&LWMC1968-8919 FLA and L&L WMC 1969-9007 ENCLOSED TOP. 1960s mid century modern rare survivor and always displayed in a “for show only” formal living room. Loevsky & Loevsky, White Metal Castings was a company known for producing mid-century modern lighting and decorative items that featured: Style and Design: o L&L WMC lamps featured ornate bases, intricate detailing, and a combination of materials and design elements. Construction: o Solid construction quality and materials with a well-made feel with attention to detail in both the base and the shade. Manufacturing Techniques: o L&L WMC lamps are known for their white metal castings. The base and other metal parts show signs of casting techniques typical of L&LWMC. This is for a truly serious collector! Beautiful walnut Danish style modern bench seat. There are NONE of these currently for sale anywhere that Ive looked. Last was about 7 yrs ago. I researched Calvin (located in Grand Rapids Mich) extensively. They were open 1953-1973. Very little info is available online about company nor from the Grand Rapids Historical Society. Many records were lost or burned in a fire. It is known that Paul McCobb & Kipp Stewart worked there. I couldnt find any other designers who worked there. The GRHS suspect this bench seat was designed by Stewart but there is no verification. I recently had an online appraisal from an appraiser who works for Antiques Roadshow. She est. that a reasonable asking price is $800-$1000!! This is due to condition & the rarity of what she called a window seat which is much rarer than a dining room chair. This also was w/o an attribution to a specific designer. It is appx: 27 H: 26 W : 18. D. Seat Height: 18 in. This must be cash, zelle, or paypal only & pickup only in Providence RI as shipping is exorbitant. I will consider an extremely REASONABLE offer, NO LOWBALLING.
