Maintenance Apprentice

Maintenance Apprentice Job Description The Maintenance Apprentice supports the daily activities of the Maintenance department while learning equipment maintenance, repair procedures, and facility upkeep. This role works closely with the maintenance lead and plant supervisor to assist with preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs throughout the facility. The apprentice will gain hands-on experience maintaining equipment and supporting operational efficiency while developing technical maintenance skills. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn are important to success in this role. ________________________________________ Key Functions Maintenance Apprentice Activities • Assist maintenance technicians with daily maintenance tasks and facility repairs. • Learn preventative maintenance procedures for equipment and machinery and facility. • Support troubleshooting and basic repairs under the supervision of experienced maintenance staff. • Help maintain maintenance shop organization and operational standards. • Assist with transporting tools, parts, and maintenance supplies to required areas within the facility. • Communicate and collaborate with supervisors, leads, and team members regarding maintenance needs. • Listen carefully to instructions and complete assigned maintenance tasks. • Maintain strong working relationships within the maintenance and production teams. • Support internal departments by helping ensure equipment is functioning properly and maintenance requests are addressed. • Support maintenance crew with all facility upkeep and repairs. • Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and according to quality expectations. • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all safety procedures required for the role. ________________________________________ Skills & Qualifications • Strong desire to learn equipment maintenance and mechanical repair skills. • Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on technical work. • High attention to detail. • Ability to follow instructions and learn new maintenance procedures. • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work as part of a team. • Good communication and customer service skills.
