We are seeking a qualified Accountant to work collaboratively with our Aberdeen and Centralia sawmill divisions. This person will be an integral part of our accounting team and will work closely with the Mill Managers, Accounting Management, and other Accountants within the Company. About the Position Assist with accounting for the divisions, which may include financial statement preparations and financial statement analysis, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and other analysis as needed Oversee inventory cost accountinglogs & lumberat all stages of production from purchasing raw materials to shipments of finished product, including monthly and year-end inventory counts Manage fixed asset accounting and reconcile fixed asset accounts Monthly and year-end close for the division, including preparation of all audit and tax schedules Participate in the hiring, training, mentoring, and managing office staff Ensure that appropriate internal control measures are followed Provide financial analysis as needed for special projects Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines Recognize when and how to be assertive when improvement opportunities arise Work as part of a team with company accounting staff and management Use appropriate discretion with confidential Company information Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field Preference given for work experience in accounting Working experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on inventory/cost accounting a plus Experience with general ledger functions Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with significant experience creating/using Excel Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve problems Professional demeanor, with ability to work in a team environment Why Join Our Team? The general wage range for this position at Sierra Pacific Industries is from $80,000 and $90,000 per year, and is dependent upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to: relevant work experience, skill, knowledge, and/or education.
