For sale is a high-end MASTERPIECE OF FINE WOODWORKING. A versatile games table which I have used as a chess table, but which can be used for bridge, poker, card games generally, board games generally, backgammon, and checkers. I have it on good authority (namely that of a former Universal Furniture sales executive), that this table combines solid maple with marquetry in prized tiger maple and pecan. The table is 30 tall, with a generous 40 x 40 top surface, and with integrated chess-checkers/backgammon boards, four felted storage drawers, and two matching, upholstered chairs on castors. No scratches or damage. This sale does NOT include the wrought-iron lamp, the set of chess pieces, and the broad chess board which you see in the first photo. I show these things simply to stimulate your imagination. According to tags under the chairs, the manufacturer was Universal Furniture, a premium home-furnishings brand headquartered in Taiwan. Universal Furniture is well-known locally in WNC as the company which bought out Southern Furniture (Conover, NC, just east of Hickory), a famous, long-established, made-to-order upholstery company. I purchased the table and chairs from Furniture South (Highlands, NC) in 1999 when I moved to this area and needed to furnish my home. I am quite certain that this model of table was discontinued quite some time ago, so lucky is the person who can find one today. Its a rare find, especially in this fine condition. And with this quality of construction, size, and elegant appearance. I hope that this table will find a new home with an avid chess player. Or with a family which enjoys regular games nights. TERMS OF SALE Sale is CASH and CARRY. The table is sold AS IS, and the sale is FINAL (no returns or refunds). Generally, I require exact-amount greenback cash (which I can verify as not counterfeit) for this sale (no checks, no credit/debit cards, no financing, no layaway/holding). If possible, a mixture of $20s and $50s. I cannot make change. But, at my discretion, I will accept Zelle (and only Zelle). To use Zelle, you must be enrolled at your bank, and you must have a transfer/spending limit which is high enough to cover the purchase price. CHECK WITH YOUR BANK. And you must come to my place and remove the table from my home. You must also bring your own tools (the table legs detach), as well as boxing and packing materials to protect the table and chairs during transport. INSPECTION BY APPOINTMENT ONLY To reach me, reply to this ad with (1) identification of the item youre interested in, (2) your questions, (3) a morning or an afternoon (weekday or weekend) when you would like to take a pleasant drive to my place to make an inspection and possibly conclude the sale, and (4) your name and telephone number so that we can continue by text exchange. *** If you see it, its available *** For Sale: New, Never Used Z Gallerie Mirror Collage Picture Frame – $70, Price is Firm (Retail $250) Why Im Selling We special-ordered this Z Gallerie mirror collage frame specifically for a hallway refresh in late 2023. We picked it up, brought it home, and—Im a little embarrassed to admit—stuck it in a closet and completely forgot about it. We only rediscovered it recently during a clean-out, still in its box, and honestly couldnt even remember what was inside. I finally opened it to see what we had—and yes, I took the photos you see here—then carefully repacked it. Its never been hung, never been used. Our decor has since gone a different direction, so its ready for a new home.
