Antique Chinese Painting Table (Circa early of 19th century) is handcrafted in Ming Style with simple and straight lines. Four elegantly shaped legs, ending in horse hoof feet and humpback stretchers. The table was originally made as a calligraphy painting table. The table is a typical Waist style of Ming furniture. The waist just below the tabletop is made from a separate piece of wood and carved in a narrower waist connecting the tabletop and the table body in a unique way. The table is made from a core of elmwood with beautiful wood grain handcrafted and structured with wooden pegs and a tenon structure, which is the very traditional craftsmanship for furniture making in ancient China. Beautifully aged top will make an astonishing wine table, accent table or console table in a hallway, entryway, living room, or dining room.
