EXOTIC, TRIBAL, ANTIQUE, BAHKTIAR, ORIENTAL RUG: 9.7x6.1

This is a richly detailed, tribal, Antique Oriental rug, that was hand-knotted in Turkey in the 1930s. The design style is known as a BAHKTIAR. This BAHKTIAR is in excellent condition, and features a visually beautifully design of six inch diamonds, with various floral elements within each. The exact size is 9.7x6.1 (so just about 10x6). This gorgeous oriental is available for sale, because the City Lakes staged home, in which it was featured, has sold. (We take our rugs back after staging to sell them for a portion of their cost, to charge a lower staging fee.) (The design is a rich exotic tapestry feel with a beautiful larger marquis-shaped central medallion. The colors are soft and rich because the woolen yarn was dyed using vegetable dyes for a richer yet softer, and deeper color than harsh chemical dyes used in lesser quality rugs.) This oriental is a really beautiful piece that will enhance any space in which you decide to use it. This BAHKTIAR was constructed of 100% virgin wool on a cotton warp (understructure). Its a beautiful piece, with a unique and highly detailed design that can be used in many ways. This rug features 140 KPSI (knots per square inch), with a total of about 1,600,000 knots, and it took about 2400 hours of labor to hand knot this piece. It is of excellent quality, consistent with what we would expect in a very good quality Oriental rug. This rug was selected for its beautiful and impressive design, and it would be fantastic in an entry way, office or study, a den, a bedroom, a kitchen, or a family room. It features a design that is highly versatile, so it could work well in a traditional, transitional, modern, or contemporary setting.
