Selling my sweet Gibson ES-165 - its the ES-175 with the one pickup you actually use (just ask Pat Metheny!). Its also called the Herb Ellis model. This is the more recent model with the floating pickup, rather than the pickup cutting into the top. So its the better version (reflected by the higher pricing bracket for later ES-165 guitars compared to earlier cut-into-the-top versions, as seen on Reverb, etc.). Just check out the pics...ignore the dust on the head stock I forgot to dust off before taking photos :) I got this in a trade in great condition over a decade ago. I dont think I ever took it out of the house for a jam or a gig, because I always bring out cheaper guitars for that. The hinge of the original tailpiece broke (a *very* common problem, Ive been told), a few years after I got the guitar, and it was replaced with a new one. Otherwise, all stock. I love this guitar, especially its neck. But I love paying my bills more...Well, I dont know about love, but need definitely. I got the layoff blues...and this is one blues I cant play with a guitar, only pay with one! Id love to keep it, honestly (once I let go of this guy, I probably wouldnt be able to gather up enough cash to buy another one for a long time), but I do still have a cheaper archtop to keep me company. So Ill still have an archtop in my collection. TBH I play more solid bodies these days anyway. Hence the (reluctant) sale. Im trying to generate cash to pay bills, as said, but I could potentially do a partial trade. Like a cheaper Telecaster (especially a Thinline or Deluxe) plus cash, for this jazz guitar. Other trades might be like a a cool 5-string bass, maybe a Stratocaster (esp. Strat with a two point tremolo and/or with a humbucker), a Jazzmaster (esp. if its not the kind where you have to take off the neck just to do a truss rod adjustment), a Gretsch hollowbody, a semi-hollow guitar, etc. Maybe trading a mandolin or ukulele also? If you see this it is available. If interested email thru CL relay. Eastman E8D-TC Swiss Alpine Spruce top, Solid Rosewood back and sides. These were build with tops of thermocured Swiss Alpine Moon Spruce for about a year in time period 2020-2021. This model is the Eastman that would be the comparable model to a HD-28 although with an HD28 the Alpine Spruce and torrefaction process would be an upgrade. Swiss Alpine Spruce is tonally said to be in between Sitka Spruce and Adirondack Spruce which with this I found to be true. These Alpine Spruce models are quite desirable by Eastman fans who were aware of the temporary upgrade. I preferred this over the E20D-TC I recently sold. Trimming guitars and would like to sell locally before Reverb. This came with a Eastman case with gold hardware whereas its usually chrome or antiqued bronze finish metal. Nice low action, no fret wear. Excellent near mint condition both guitar and case. A really fine sounding guitar, since having it out and playing it again, really hard to want to part with it, but having too many need to thin. As good or better then most dreadnoughts costing much more.
