POSITION SUMMARY: As a Class A CDL tractor trailer driver you will complete routine trips between the Valley County Transfer Station and Clay Peak Landfill in Payette, ID with a 53ft trailer. This position requires you to adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures at multiple safety sensitive sites, as well as perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires. . Basic knowledge of truck components in order to complete pre- and post-trip inspections. . DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to safely operate a Class A Tractor Trailer Truck. Waste experience preferred, but not required. Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires. Ability to perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers. Operate hydraulic hand controls to unload refuse and dispose of trash at designated locations. . WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: Requires physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds. Work environment involves exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts. Which require following basic safety precautions.
