West Coast Arborists, Inc. is hiring for a Mechanic at Santa Clara yard. Perform maintenance and repairs to all company vehicles and equipment as directed. WORK HOURS Typical hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Additional overtime hours and Saturday schedules may be required. SALARY RANGE Starting salary is $25.15 -38.89 + Fringe Benefits $11.72 Total compensation up to $50.61 per hour, D.O.E. Overtime rate is 1 and 1 half times regular pay after 8 hours per day. Payroll is paid weekly. COMPENSATION • Health Insurance • Dental Insuranceshared cost 50/50 • Pension/Annuity • Vacation/Holiday Pay • Sick Time • Credit Union • End of Year Bonus QUALIFICATIONS • High school diploma • Read, speak and write English • Must be physiy fit & pass pre-employment physical • A valid Driver’s License • Must pass company driving test • Ability to work in adverse conditions • Reliable transportation • Professional and/or vocational schooling or equivalentas determined by WCArelated in mechanic areas • Expertise in fleet maintenance REGULAR JOB DUTIES • Work on Heavy Duty Trucks and Equipment. • Have the skills and experience to provide maintenance and diagnosing on diesel engines and chassis • Repair vehicles and equipment as directed both at company facility and in field • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems • Fabrication and welding skills • Determining priorities, show enthusiasm while working accurately, concentrating amid distractions, remember details, making decisions, work rapidly but safely, work well with others, work well al 1, and work under pressure • Must complete service requests completely, accurately, and legible • Perform other duties as requested CERTIFICATION/LICENSES RECOMMENDED • Valid CA Driver’s License • Mechanic Certification-preferred • California Air Resource Board truck inspections-preferred POTENTIAL ADVERSE CONDITIONS • Hot, cold, dry & wet weather • Hazardous, dirty & noisy work areas • Working under pressure PHYSICAL ACTIVITY • Standing • Reaching • Lifting • Throwing • Running • Carrying • Pushing • Pulling • Bending Interested candidates can apply online at www.wcainc.com or in person at the local office WCA, Inc.
