Up for sale is a beautiful, matching 2-piece traditional Mexican Mariachi rhythm section handcrafted by Pachanga. This set includes both the large acoustic bass Guitarrón and its high-pitched companion, the 5-string Vihuela. Both instruments feature the classic deep, highly convex bellied backs for massive natural acoustic projection and outdoor volume. They boast gorgeous, iridescent abalone shell star (estrella) rosettes around the soundholes complemented by intricate chevron mosaic purfling. They also feature the traditional color-coded patriotic string wraps at the bridge. Condition Report: * Pachanga Vihuela (Smaller): Perfect, pristine condition. The wood, finish, and decorative inlays are completely intact. It plays beautifully with a bright, crisp percussive chime. * Pachanga Guitarrón (Larger): Very nice, gorgeous, structurally sound condition. The wood is entirely stable with absolutely NO cracks, splits, or seam separations. It currently needs one replacement string, so I am including a new pack of strings so that all 6 can be replaced. Cosmetically, there are a few missing pieces of abalone shell inlay along the outer border edge of the guitars silhouette (this is purely cosmetic edge wear and does not affect the booming sound or structural integrity). The tiny missing abalone shell chips are not very noticeable at all. This set is absolutely gorgeous from all angles! They would make a lovely display for decor as well as fantastic for playing. I do not have cases for them. The smaller one has a fitted cardboard box I keep it packed in.
