This vintage blender is one of the most durable models to date. –Unfortunately, I removed the pitcher before it stopped spinning, and the rubber disc on top of the based did what it was designed to do; Made of rubber rather than metal, the blades under the pitcher cut into the soft surface.e Replacement couplings are sold in pack of three, so hastily removing the pitcher must not be that uncommon. I never got around to ordering the replacement part. But the blender free - so its worth spending $6-$8 and a few minutes to get the standard replacement part and screwing it on - to have a high-end, powerful Empire Red KitchenAid Blender in like-new condition.
