Customer Service Team Member

Bike Friday is a small manufacturer of high-end folding and travel bicycles. We design and build from raw tubing to finished bike here at the factory. We ship our bikes to customers and dealers all over the world, 15 countries. Bike Friday is mission driven and customer focused as we want to make a positive impact on the world. We are looking for a special person that shares these values to join our team. Position Details: This position is part time (15-25 hours a week depending on season). Spring and Summer are the busiest. Potential to grow into longer hours and more responsibilities. The skills and experience needed: • Strong mechanical aptitude and skill, at least several years working on a variety of bicycles • Strong communications skills written and spoken (previous customer service email experience a plus) • Customer service experience in high quality product (sporting goods product is preferred) Customer centered focus. However service skills from high quality restaurants or retail also qualify. • This job requires strong attention to detail, and excellent follow through • Organized and personally motivated to achieve what is needing to be done • Personal experience loving what a well fitting bike can do for your life • Experienced in and appreciate teamwork and collaboration for shared goals • Electric assist experience with bicycles, understanding electricity for good trouble shooting • Positive can-do attitude with good sense of humor and flexibility to adapt to changing needs Some of the tasks that need to be covered: • Customer Service Email as well as some phone and in person service • Electric assist installations • Parts order fulfillment • Bicycle Mechanics (overhauls, re-paints, wheel building) • Potential to learn brazing and powder-coating (we would teach you) Compensation: Starting wage of $18-$20/hr with wide range possible and negotiable based on skills, experience and background.
