The price is $700. This price is firm and non-negotiable. Please dont ask for a discount or make an offer. For sale is a Denka Mobler Furniture Company brand storage and display cabinet. This could also be called a storage and display case. This cabinet was manufactured in Denmark in the 1980s and purchased new by my parents from the Scandinavian Design Furniture Gallery in Cupertino. The item is from the Danish mid-century-modern (MCM) style of furniture, first made popular in the 1950s. This cabinet is designed for storage and display of art, media, electronics, or household items. Its intended to be placed in a living room, dining room, bedroom, or office space. Of course, you can use it for in other settings and for other purposes. Nearly all exterior portions of the cabinet are constructed of genuine teak wood veneer over MDF. Due to the generous use of wood throughout, its an extremely heavy piece, weighing about 80 pounds. There are several large and sturdy teak wood sheet panels that make up the main structural elements of the case, including the left-hand panel, the right-hand panel, the top panel, and the rear panel. The cabinet also has several interior shelves, hinged doors, and pull-out drawers, nearly all of which are also composed of teak wood sheet panels. The only portions not constructed of teak wood veneer are the interior of the bottom pull-out drawers, which are normally hidden from view. These hidden sections are constructed of plastic-coated MDF. The entire cabinet measures about 33.5 wide, 18.5 deep, and 74.25 tall. This is about 3 feet wide, 1.5 feet deep, and 6 feet tall. Please see Pictures 1 to 10, which show the entire cabinet from different perspectives. The case is broken down into two interior sections, including the top section and the bottom section. The top section has two equal-sized doors that swing outwards on metal hinges. Each door measures about 15.5 wide and 42.25 tall. Behind these doors is two equal-sized interior spaces for storage. Each of these two spaces measures about 31.25 wide, 16.75 deep, and 21.75 tall. Pictures 11 to 15 show this top section. When the cabinet was first purchased in the 1980s, the top space within the top section had one height-adjustable interior shelf. There are holes to install the metal support brackets that hold up this removable shelf. But the shelf and support brackets are missing and presumed lost forever. Once again, the removable shelf for this top space is not available. The bottom space within this top section has one height-adjustable interior shelf. If you position the shelf half-way, the usable height of each shelf is about a little under 10.5 tall. But its possible to increase or decrease this shelf height between 6 to 16 tall. This interior shelf can also be completely removed to increase the storage height to 21.75 tall. The interior shelf is held in place using thin metal support brackets that connect to holes in the interior sides of the cabinet. The bottom section of the cabinet is composed of three (3) equal-sized drawers that each pull out on wooden sliders. The interior section of each drawer measures about 29.25 wide, 15.75 deep, and 5.75 tall. The front panels of each drawer is made up of the teak veneer sheets. But as mentioned above, the interior portions of these drawers, which is normally hidden from view, is made up of plastic-coated MDF. Pictures 16 to 18 show these bottom section drawers in their pulled-out state. With two exceptions, the entire cabinet is in excellent structural condition. All exterior and internal wooden support panels, doors, shelves, and drawers are still straight, with no significant bending, warping, or fatigue. The cabinet is still robust. One of the exceptions is based on some small modifications that my father made to the cabinet a few decades ago, in order to install some audio components into the cabinet. During these modifications, the back panel was cut in half and then these two halves were flipped 180 degrees. He also cut two small holes, one in the back panel and another in the sheet panel at the top of the bottom section. These holes are very small, each measuring about 3 wide and 2 deep. Pictures 20 and 21 shows these modifications. The good news is that these modifications are not significant enough to harm the structural integrity of the cabinet. The placement of these modification are almost completely hidden from view, so that you normally dont see them. The other exception is that there is a small 4 by 1.5 break in the bottom panel on the bottom pull-out drawer. This break is not large enough to harm the structural integrity of the cabinet. And the break is not visible, unless you pull out the bottom drawer. Picture 22 shows this break. The cabinet is also in excellent cosmetic condition. There are a few tiny scratches on some exterior surfaces. And a few tiny portions of the teak wood veneer in some panels started to detach from the MDF backing material many years ago. But my father placed on wood glue on these sections to secure them many years ago. Cosmetically speaking, the natural grain of the teak wood is beautiful! You can pick up from my house near the San Jose Airport. Given its large size, youll definitely need a truck or very large SUV. As shown in Picture 23, its possible to remove the doors, the drawers, and one of the interior shelves from the larger cabinet for transportation. I can help you load this into your truck. But youll have the assist me, as its simply too heavy for me to lift by myself. Unfortunately, I dont have a vehicle large enough to hold this, so I cannot offer to deliver this. I prefer that you reach out via text message. Sending an initial email message is OK. But arranging pickup solely using email is not a feasible option for me. Eventually, youll have to text me to arrange a specific pickup or delivery time. Thanks.
