We are hiring for multiple kitchen positions for the upcoming season at Evans Lake in Squamish. FIRST COOK/SOUS CHEF This role is perfect for an experienced cook who’s ready to step into a leadership position in a high-volume kitchen. You’ll help guide a small team while preparing batch-cooked meals for groups ranging from 40 to 120 guests. From camps and school groups to weddings and corporate retreats, you’ll play a key part in making sure every meal is organized, well-timed, and delicious. You’ll support menu execution, assist with ordering and inventory, and step in to lead the kitchen when the Head Chef is away. This position suits someone confident, calm under pressure, and comfortable managing both people and food production in a dynamic setting. First Cook / Sous Chef: $23–$28/hour, full-time (around 40 hours/week), mid-March to late October. SECOND / LINE / PREP COOK As a Second Cook, you’ll be an essential part of daily meal production. You’ll work closely with the kitchen lead to prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner for large groups, helping with everything from chopping and cooking to buffet and family-style service. You’ll also help receive deliveries, rotate stock mention, and keep the kitchen clean and organized. This role is a great fit for someone who has some kitchen experience, enjoys staying busy, and takes pride in consistency and food quality. A strong work ethic and willingness to jump in wherever needed will go a long way here. Second Cook: $20–$26/hour, full-time (35–45 hours/week), late March to mid-October. KITCHEN ASSISTANT / FOOD PREP Kitchen Assistants are the backbone of a smooth-running kitchen. In this role, you’ll support the cooks with food prep, basic plating, dishwashing, and keeping both the kitchen and dining areas clean and stocked. You’ll help with supplies, garbage and recycling, and general organization to keep service running efficiently. This is a great opportunity for someone who is reliable, positive, and ready to work hard as part of a team. If you’re comfortable in a fast-paced environment and like staying active throughout your shift, you’ll fit right in. Kitchen Assistant: $18–$22/hour, full-time (35–40 hours/week), seasonal through October.
