The price is $500. This price is firm and non-negotiable. Please dont ask for a discount or make an offer. For sale is a portable audio-video (AV) electronics cabinet that can hold a lot of extremely heavy audio, video, computer, or electronic components. This is also called an AV rack. This is a SolidSteel brand. I dont know the specific model number. It was purchased at Magnolia Audio nearly two decades ago for more than $1,000. The cabinet has an open-faced frame constructed of extremely sturdy black-colored steel beams, each measuring about 1 x 1 thick. These steel beams have been welded together to form a single, rectangular frame that measures about 22 wide, 18 deep, and 45 tall. Pictures 18 and 19 show the bare metal frame, with none of the removable shelves in place. Its not possible to dis-assemble this sturdy frame. In three places, the cabinet has genuine, solid walnut wood trim pieces affixed to the steel frame for ornamental purposes. The walnut wood trim is at the bottom and top of the front panel and at the top of the back panel. Underneath this frame lies six (6) sets of heavy-duty wheels. Each wheel is about 2.5 in height. Two of the front wheels are rotatable caster-type, which can be locked in place. The other four wheels only move forwards and backwards and cannot rotate in place. With the wheels, the entire cabinet measures 47.5 tall, which is slightly under 4 feet tall. Its possible to completely remove these wheels, but doing so would take a lot of effort. If you remove these wheels, the cabinet is 45 tall. At the bottom of the cabinet is two extremely sturdy, black-colored solid wooden sheets that are mounted to the steel frame. Each wooden sheet is 0.75 thick with both sheets measuring 1.5 thick. This bottom shelf is not removable, and it is not height-adjustable. At the top of the cabinet lies the top shelf, also constructed of a single black-colored solid wooden sheet which measures about 0.75 thick. While the wooden sheet on this top shelf can be completely removed for transportation, the shelf itself is not height-adjustable. Between the bottom shelf and the top shelf is an interior space that measures about 40 tall. This interior space can accommodate up to three (3) sets of shelves that are each held in place to the metal frame using heavy-duty screw-mounts. Picture 21 shows this screw mount support mechanism. The shelves themselves are also constructed of black-colored solid wood sheets, each measuring about 0.75 thick. These three shelves can be slightly height adjusted, in 5 increments. Its also possible to completely remove one or more of these middle shelves to accommodate taller components. As a summary, the bottom and top shelves are fixed in place. These two shelves are NOT height adjustable. The three middle shelves are all height adjustable in 5 increments. Or these three middle shelves can be completely removed to accommodate shorter or taller equipment. In Pictures 1 to 17, the shelf heights are about 11, 8.5, 8.5, and 10 from bottom to top. There is no height restriction for equipment placed on the top shelf, above the cabinet. Because the entire cabinet is constructed of steel and solid wood, it can hold a lot of very heavy equipment. The bottom shelf can accommodate up to 150 pounds of equipment. The lower two middle shelves can each accommodate up to 75 pounds of equipment. And the top two shelves can each accommodate up to 50 pounds of equipment. In total, this cabinet can hold up to 400 pounds of gear. Even completely loaded up with 400 pounds of equipment, its still possible to easily move this cabinet, due to the heavy-duty wheels at the bottom. Due to the placement of the six bottom wheels and the weight requirements of the different shelves, its very difficult to topple this cabinet. I purchased this cabinet with this in mind. [Note: Its important that you strap this cabinet to the closest wall, as it will likely move around during an earthquake!] Because the metal frame is open, its possible to place extremely large electronic components on each shelf that extend beyond the boundaries of the frame. For example, this cabinet can accommodate equipment deeper than 18 or wider than 20. The only limitation is that your audio component cannot be both 18+ deep and 20+ wide. Otherwise, it will not fit on any of the four bottom shelves. There are no depth or width restrictions for equipment placed on the top shelf, above the cabinet. Because the cabinet is constructed of steel and solid wood, it weighs about 60 pounds. The AV cabinet is in excellent structural and functional condition. The metal frame is perfectly intact with no bending, warping, or other structural challenges. The wheels all rotate with ease. The wooden shelving sheets are also intact with no bending or warping. All metal shelving support screws are robust with no problems. The cabinet is also in excellent cosmetic condition. There are no major scratches or smudges on any surface. There are some tiny scratches on some metal beams, but most are not particularly noticeable. And these cosmetic issues dont harm the structural integrity of the cabinet. You can pick up from my house near the San Jose Airport. You could probably need an SUV or truck to accommodate the cabinet. Or I would be happy to deliver it to you, if I happen to travel out in your direction. I have an SUV. I prefer that you reach out via text message. Sending an initial email message is OK. But arranging pickup solely using email is not a feasible option for me. Eventually, youll have to text me to arrange a specific pickup or delivery time. Thanks.
