15% off of $325.00 this weekend! Sale Hours Friday, March 20 • 10AM–8PM Saturday, March 21 • 10AM–8PM Sunday, March 22 • 10AM–5PM Professionally refinished This charming bar has been completely transformed from a 1925 radio cabinet made in Chicago during the probation. This piece has been a labor of love for 4 months. We don’t usually name pieces but was named Grumpy old bastard. Due to the fact that every step around this restoring processes was like 20 steps back. Always a push back daily. Daily restoration in repairs to last another 100 years or more. Some imperfections due to age but not noticeable and doesn’t effect how the piece operates. This piece was a family piece that was in storage in a barn in Kansas for many years. It came to us from a friend wanting to see life in it again. A second chance instead of the trash. It came to us without the radio guts and was used at one point by the family as desk. We chose to turn this piece into a bar. To make this piece the center of happiness and entertainment again like it once was. The inspiration for the prohibition photos in the back top and drawer. Was due to the furniture tag on the piece. Dated back to the prohibition times in Chicago. Photos from Chicago also dating to that time. I wanted to make this piece to match most decors without taking away from the gorgeous fragile veneer but it be able to shine through. This piece was bleached, treated for transparent stain to better show grain details and then natural wood washed. Due to the fact that this piece had many mixed woods and many repairs in the grain to hide the radio holes to breath; this helped keep the wood underneath from turning back to its natural color and keeping a uniformed look throughout. Also in brighter rooms and natural light you can see all the beautiful grain through out. Details on the bar: -This piece is refinished in a natural wood tone. -Sealed with liquid resistant clear coat for high traffic durability throughout. The interior and exterior all done to match throughout. -New built in wine holder and shelf in interior middle. -The original furniture tag sits in the center backing from the shelf in this piece for a historic display. -Center top opens like a pop up bar as well as center bottom door. -(Bottom drawer must be open for the bottom door to open.-this was a way back then they used to have extra support for the door weight.) -(Bottom drawer also has antiqued photos in it to match the center back prohibition bar photo that displays when the bar top is open. Also sealed. -Two doors on either side for more hidden storage. -Door to the left has a new wine rack holder. Can hold up to 4 stemmed wine glasses at once. Also has left over space in the bottom for stemless wine glasses or whiskey glasses. -Door on the right has been left open for extra storage in bottles. Also painted and sealed to match exterior. -when center pop up is shut this also works as a buffet or display shelf. -stunning long spindle legs to make the bottom of this piece to appear more open and clean.
