This auction is for an absolutely BEAUTIFUL 1960’s, 1970’s vintage 12 light chandelier that has FANTASTIC PEAR OR TEARDROP SHAPED CUT GLASS CRYSTALS only. The crystals are cut on BOTH sides with a WONDERFUL pattern and comes to a point on both sides! There are 2 types of pear shaped crystals and one type of pointed faced crystals from each light, plus the chains of 6 sided Strauss crystals! There are large teardrop shaped crystals, 2 3/8” tall by 1 ¼” wide. They each hang from 2 Strauss (now called Swarovsky) crystal CUT glass 6 sided crystals and they are around the top and the bottom as are the pear shape large crystals. Chains of the Strauss crystals with gold plated “bows” connecting them go from one pear shape crystal to another on the top and the bottom. There are vertical chains of the Strauss crystals in the middle of the piece and a crystal cut glass “half” bowl cut with diamonds (3 ¾” diameter) above them and a large 8” diameter “half” crystal bowl” cut in bullseyes and “X’s” with deep miter cuts, below them. There are smaller CUT pear shape crystals 2” tall by 1” wide, all around above the larger half “bowl” horizontally. Each of the 6 “candle lights” have a bobeche (what the crystals hang from) under them which is cut in the same diamonds like the top centerpiece and 5 crystals hang from each bobeche. 1 ½” tall and is faceted and comes to a point. They hang from a single faceted Strauss crystal. There is a diamond faceted ball hanging from the middle. Frame is brass plated with the exception of the inside post and piece that the arms for the 6 outer lights and the inner 6 lights are screwed in and that is chrome. Heavy at 17 lbs! Condition is really good for a chandelier this old and all the crystals are fine with no cracks or chips. I apologize for some of the crystals looking dirty and if you purchase it my husband has said he will clean it. The brass plated metal does have some discoloration but it is mostly on the top of the spray at the top that holds crystals. But with all that is going on with this ORNATE and BEAUTIFUL chandelier it is not that noticeable.
