This set of 4 chairs have all been re-glued and restored to their original finish and are very sturdy. The seats have been recovered over the original horse hair padding. I added some foam for more padding. I have never seen this kind of chair seat and it was quite a challenge to recover them. The backs and legs on the chairs are all the same but the braces on 1 of the chairs has dowels and not the square brace and center brace. Some time in the past the owners much have changed the brace 1 chair. You can see in the pictures the difference in the 1 chair. It is still as sturdy as the other 3 chairs. This desk is from the 1940 s and has the waterfall front on it. The chair came with it. The desk and chair were in my house growing up and then in the 60 s was loaned to my aunt and uncle and they antiqued it which was a popular trend in the 60 s. We have just repainted it with the Annie Sloan French Linen chalk paint and put a black wax on it and then put a coat of polyurethane for extra protection. The chair is also painted the same color and the seat has been reupholstered. The drawer pulls have also been painted black. The drawers are all dovetailed. The desk measures 40 wide x 20 deep x 30 high. The knee hole opening is 17.5 wide x 23 high. This is a great desk for a student because of its size. This is a beautiful dining table that has an inlaid design around the center of the table. I believe that it is cherry wood. It is 44 round but has a 15 leaf hidden under the table that when opened makes the table oval and measures 44 wide x 59 long. It is 30 high. It has a pedestal base that has 4 legs. The table top has been refinished and has a polyurethane finish for maximum protection. The base has been restored back to its original finish. It has a very fine inlaid design in the middle of the table that is a circular pattern of small leaves. I was told that it was made at the Hickory Chair Company which makes high quality furniture. This little rocking chair is from the 1950 s and has been restored to its original finish and now read for a new home. The decal on the top slat is original. It is solid and sturdy is like new. This antique ben 2 od butter churn was made by the Standard Churn Company in Wapak 1 ta, OH in the late 1800 s and belonged to my husbands cousins great grandfather and then passed down to his grandfather and then to our cousin years ago and now they are downsizing and no longer have room for it. It was used in Iowa but made in Ohio. It is a 2 /7 gallon butter churn which made a lot of butter for their large family. The churn has all the original paddles and the original crank. It measures 18 wide x 14.5 deep x 29 high. It is in excellent condition considering its over a 100 years old. Most of the original stenciling is still on the churn. This is a beautiful antique oak captains chair that is in like new condition in spite of its age. It has been re-glued and restored and the cane seat is in excellent condition. I think it has been re-caned recently. This chair has a unique carved back on it that looks like a harp. The chair seat is 21 wide x 18 high. The arms are 24 wide x 27 high. The back is 42 high. This would make a very nice occasional chair or an extra dining chair. The table skirt has some nice detail on the corners and the base has some nice carving on the legs. The chair legs match the table legs and have some nice detail on the backs and legs. The table top and the leaf have been refinished and the base has been restored back to its original finish. The chairs have all been re-glued and restored and the seats have been reupholstered. In spite of the age of this set is now in like new condition and ready for a new home. The table measures 42 wide x 60 long x 30.5 high. The leaf is 12 wide so when used the table is 72 long. The side chairs seats are 19 wide x 19 high and the back of the chairs are 41 high. The captains chair seat is 21 wide. Some of the pictures make it look a little orange but that is just from the way the sun was shining on it. It is actually a nice walnut color.
