BROOKLYN CRAB LEAD LINE COOK!!!

Brooklyn Crab is looking for a Lead Line Cook to join our culinary team at one of New York City’s most unique waterfront outdoor restaurants. We are a high volume, team driven restaurant known for great food, strong culture, and an energetic work environment. This role is perfect for a cook ready to step into leadership while working alongside a supportive management team that values growth, accountability, and having fun while doing great work. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Lead Line Cook helps lead daily kitchen operations by supporting the Executive Chef and Sous Chef while working directly on the line. This position plays a key role in maintaining food quality, mentoring cooks, and ensuring smooth, organized service during busy shifts. You will lead by example, working stations, expediting service, and helping build a positive kitchen culture. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Be a strong team player and help maintain a positive kitchen culture - Lead food production across stations during service - Support and mentor line cooks to ensure consistency and efficiency - Assist with expediting and maintaining proper flow of service - Ensure food quality, presentation, and execution meet Brooklyn Crab standards - Maintain clean, organized, and safe workstations at all times - Communicate clearly with kitchen and front-of-house teams - Help train new team members and support ongoing development - Uphold NYC Health Department cleanliness and safety standards - Step into leadership responsibilities when chefs are off the line WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: - 2–4+ years line cook experience in a high volume restaurant - Leadership mindset with willingness to teach and support others - Ability to stay organized and calm under pressure - Strong work ethic and reliability - Positive attitude and hospitality-focused mentality - Comfortable working in a busy indoor/outdoor seasonal environment - Passion for cooking and being part of a collaborative team COMPENSATION & PERKS: - $20–$25 per hour (based on experience) - Opportunity for growth within Brooklyn Crab - Supportive and team-focused work culture - Waterfront outdoor work environment - Consistent scheduling during season
