This is one of the guitars made for the official 2017 release. The frets on this are perfect. I didn’t buy this guitar to play. I got it specifically to take pictures of it for note cards and display prints. Total playtime of maybe 1 hour, (That’s less time than a music store display model). It lives in its case in a closet, non-smoking, no pets household. I take it out every week to look it over and put it back. There’s plenty of music store YouTube videos of this model for you to look at. I loosened the strings to include some pictures of the frets. Guitar weighs 7 1/2 pounds. I’m not connected 24/7 to the internet. I don’t use a smartphone and I check emails/listing when I’m on the computer, which may not be every day. In 2020 Fender announced that it is discontinuing the use of ash on the bodies of its production-line guitars. Fenders Executive Vice President of Product, Justin Norvell, revealed that the difficult decision was made largely because of the Emerald Ash Borer beetle, a non-native invasive pest that has been destroying the unique swamp ash found in the American South - favored by Fender for its distinctive qualities. Where I live here in Connecticut, the Emerald Ash Borer beetle, a non-native invasive pest destroyed the ash trees., so Ive personally seen the damage on a large scale. Fender switched to roasted pine for production guitars that were previously ash. They still offer alder bodies on production guitars. This is a fair price since Ive seen older 2007 - 2011 American Standard Stratocasters and telecasters in fair to good condition going for $1200 - $1600+. It can be purchased with a new Fender Studio 40 amp which weighs 19 1/2 pounds. It will replicate that 60s/70s era sound while being able to direct out to PA or software. Guitar $1100 - Guitar with amp $1,500 - Amp only $400 - Guitar plus amp plus all books $1600 *Large collection of new guitar books. Tariffs are now increasing prices on imports. This could trigger a few different things on music gear prices. Imports will be the same price as American made or sometimes more. It could also set off a price increase on American made gear making production models the same price as custom shop models were 5+ years ago. We are in some turbulent times.

Im selling a nice old Petosa tone generator for a Petosa accordian. These units were also called the Elkavox EL11 tone generator made for the Elkavox 77 accordian. This listing is for the tone generator only. It turns on and the led comes on when you push the switch. Thats the only testing Ive done since I dont own the accompanying accordian. I might be down to trade for synthesizers or other recording gear.

A Martin Sigma SBG 2 model year approx. 72/74 is offered. From this series there is a telecaster, an SG and a bass and from each model only 150 - 250 pieces were produced. You can read the story here: In 1970 Martin created the Sigma brand to manufacture instruments in Asia Pacific. Martin had no electric offering in the product line in the 1970’s, a boom time for the electric market. By 1973, Martin had specified a series of solid electric guitars to complement the Sigma acoustic line. These are notable as they were the first solid body electric guitars sold by Martin (or a Martin owned company), all previous electrics having been archtops or thinlines. These instruments were made by the highly respected Tokai in Japan, and were the only four models made in the period. They were only offered in the colors shown in the galleries here. However, these instruments were not created exclusively for Martin by Tokai, and virtually identical instruments were marketed by Ampeg as their ‘Stud’ line. It is not clear whether the Ampeg models predate the Sigma models or vice versa, but it is likely each were badge engineered versions of Tokai designs. The Sigma and Ampeg version differ only in headstock shape and logo, although interestingly the Ampeg range had more instruments in it than Sigma’s. The four models were the SG-style cherry SBG2-6 and natural SBG2-9, the Telecaster like cherry SBF2-6, and the vaguely Telecaster bass like natural finish SBB2-8. These all had bolt on necks and 3 per side tuners, with Grover imperials on the high end SBG2-9. (The Ampeg equivalents were SBG2-6=Stud GE-100, SBG2-9=Super Stud GE500, SBF2-6=Heavy Stud GEHT50, and SBB2-8=Big Stud GEB-750) These were extremely high quality instruments and relatively few were made and sold. Sadly, none of the factory records still exist and the instruments lacked serial numbers, so production totals are unavailable, but it would not be unreasonable to assume that only 150-250 of each model were produced given their short production run and relative scarcity. Martin’s sales pitch – and it was a good one – in the advertising of the period was that the guitars were all inspected at the Martin factory in Nazareth PA before being sold in the US. The intent here was to offset the fear of potential quality issues in far eastern manufacture that still existed in the 70’s. However good an idea this was, the model range didn’t survive after 1974 and Martin itself would not dally with solid electric guitars again until the EM-18 in 1978, although electrics in the Goya line (also owned by Martin through it’s acquisition of Levin in 1974, although not marketed as ‘inspected by Martin in the USA’) produced Japanese solid electrics until at least 1977 (More to come on the Japanese Martin Goyas in later posts) CALLS ONLY NO EMAILS
