The price is $600. This price is firm and non-negotiable. Please dont ask for a discount or make an offer. For sale is a Denka Mobler Furniture Company brand storage and display cabinet. This could also be called a storage and display case. This cabinet was manufactured in Denmark in the 1980s and purchased new by my parents from the Scandinavian Design Furniture Gallery in Cupertino. The item is from the Danish mid-century-modern (MCM) style of furniture, first made popular in the 1950s. This cabinet is designed for storage and display of art, media, electronics, or household items. Its intended to be placed in a living room, dining room, bedroom, or office space. Of course, you can use it for in other settings and for other purposes. Nearly all exterior portions of the cabinet are constructed of genuine teak wood veneer over MDF. Due to the generous use of wood throughout, its an extremely heavy piece, weighing about 70 pounds. There are several large and sturdy teak wood sheet panels that make up the main structural elements of the case, including the left-hand panel, the right-hand panel, the top panel, the bottom panel, and the rear panel. The cabinet also has several interior shelves and hinged doors, all of which are also composed of teak wood sheet panels. The entire cabinet measures about 33.5 wide, 18.5 deep, and 74.25 tall. This is about 3 feet wide, 1.5 feet deep, and 6 feet tall. Please see Pictures 1 to 10, which show the entire cabinet from different perspectives. The case is broken down into three interior sections, including the top section, the middle section, and the bottom section. The top section is completely open for display purposes. There are no doors hiding the interior portion of this section. The interior space in this section measures about 31.25 wide, 16.75 deep, and 21.75 tall. There is one height-adjustable interior shelf in this section. If you position the shelf half-way, the usable height of each shelf is about a little under 10.5 tall. But its possible to increase or decrease this shelf height between 6 to 16 tall. This interior shelf can also be completely removed to increase the storage height to 21.75 tall. The interior shelf is held in place using thin metal support brackets that connect to holes in the interior sides of the cabinet. Pictures 11 to 13 show this top section. The middle section has two equal-sized doors that swing outwards on metal hinges. Each door measures about 15.5 wide and 22.5 tall. Behind these doors is an open space for storage that measures about 31.25 wide, 16.75 deep, and 21.75 tall. There is one height-adjustable interior shelf in this section. If you position the shelf half-way, the usable height of each shelf is about a little under 10.5 tall. But its possible to increase or decrease this shelf height between 6 to 16 tall. This interior shelf can also be completely removed to increase the storage height to 21.75 tall. The interior shelf is held in place using thin metal support brackets that connect to holes in the interior sides of the cabinet. Pictures 14 to 17 show this middle section. The bottom section has two equal-sized doors that swing outwards on metal hinges. Each door measures about 15.5 wide and 22.5 tall. Behind these doors is an open space for storage that measures about 31.25 wide, 16.75 deep, and 21.75 tall. When the cabinet was first purchased in the 1980s, there was one removable interior shelf in this section. There are holes to install the metal support brackets that hold up this removable shelf. But the shelf and support brackets are missing and presumed lost forever. Pictures 18 to 20 show this bottom section. With one exception, the entire cabinet is in excellent structural condition. All exterior and internal wooden support panels and shelves are still straight, with no significant bending, warping, or fatigue. The cabinet is still robust. The one exception is that a small portion of the wooden panel at the very bottom, at the rear, left-hand side has broken off. This broken section measures about 4 long and 4 tall. Picture 22 is a closeup of this break. This broken surface is not enough the harm the structural integrity of the entire cabinet. But its noticeable, especially if you are looking directly at it. The good news is that because this broken section is at the bottom rear of the cabinet, you can try to hide it by placing it against a wall or against another piece of furniture. The cabinet is also in excellent cosmetic condition. There are a few tiny scratches on some exterior surfaces. And a few tiny portions of the teak wood veneer in some panels started to detach from the MDF backing material many years ago. But my father placed on wood glue on these sections to secure them many years ago. Cosmetically speaking, the natural grain of the teak wood is beautiful! You can pick up from my house near the San Jose Airport. Given its large size, youll definitely need a truck or very large SUV. As shown in Picture 23, its possible to remove the doors and one of the interior shelves from the larger cabinet for transportation. I can help you load this into your truck. But youll have the assist me, as its simply too heavy for me to lift by myself. Unfortunately, I dont have a vehicle large enough to hold this, so I cannot offer to deliver this. I prefer that you reach out via text message. Sending an initial email message is OK. But arranging pickup solely using email is not a feasible option for me. Eventually, youll have to text me to arrange a specific pickup or delivery time. Thanks. For sale is this lovely Danish teak extendable dining table paired with four solid teak dining chairs by Svegards Markaryd featuring newly-upholstered heather gray seats. Ive restored many mid-century Scandinavian dining sets over the years and this pairing would be a beautiful table situation for your family/guests to gather around the next 30+ years. TABLE OVERVIEW: Circa 1970s, it is in very good condition as it now exudes that wonderful warm teak-toned glow, and has just been refreshed so it now exudes a beautiful sheen throughout with a new protective finish. Marked BRDR Furbo Made in Denmark underneath - BRDR is an abbreviation for Brodrene which translates to Brothers in Danish, indicating it was founded by the Furbo brothers (a well-known Danish furniture manufacturer). TABLE SIZE/DIMENSIONS: The scale of this dining table would be best suited for smaller-to-medium sized dining spaces. It is 33.5 square with two 11.75 concealed leaves neatly stored under the tabletop so it quickly expands to 57 when both leaves are expanded. Normal dining table height, 28.75 high. Legs easily detach for transport. OVERALL CONDITION: Recently refreshed and given a new protective finish to both protect this beauty for the next 30+ years and give it a lovely, period-correct satin sheen. As with all vintage furniture, there are some small signs of wear/patina throughout that I have already addressed/blended but still remain. CHAIRS OVERVIEW: Svegards Markaryd was among Sweden’s renowned furniture makers, known for collaborating with notable designers who championed minimalist and timeless aesthetic. During this era, Swedish furniture became a key export, symbolizing the nation’s postwar commitment to accessible yet beautifully designed pieces - and these chairs remain prized examples of how Scandinavian design reshaped modern interiors worldwide. Lastly, these are very similar in design/shape as the highly-coveted Eva chair by Koefoed Hornslet. OVERALL CONDITION: Theyve just been restored/reconditioned to showcase the beautiful teak woodgrain throughout, and they present beautifully overall ready for another generation of dining usage.
