Festooned with decorative banners and ribbons. Very cool, highly detailed, colorful tropical fish which appears to be wearing a mask like a bandit or a harness as if preparing for battle or a party. Not sure if this rendition is inspired by the the bandit corydoras or false bandit catfish which is a tropical freshwater fish belonging to the subfamily Corydoradinae of the family Callichthyidae. It originates in inland waters in South America, and is found in the upper Rio Negro and Meta River basins in Brazil and Colombia. It certainly is dressed up and decorated to celebrate a tropical carnival. Amazingly colorful with detailed multiple layered brushstrokes and texture which is hard to appreciate in photos. Appears to be custom framed. Combination of wood with resin that beautifully complements the painting. And rather than a straight or curved edge the frame has an undulating wavy pattern like the ocean and is ombré colored around shades of burgundy. As can be expected has some minor dings and surface marks and the lightweight tape on the back is loose in some areas. Zoom into photos to appreciate overall texture and condition. Very unique and one-of-a-kind. ~~ 2) Original Oil Pastel Tropical Fish Ocean Optical Illusion Floating Art Floater Artwork Framed Signed NIEMEYER, $280 Measures about 32 width x 28 height in a vintage black frame. Signed by artist NIEMEYER Delightful and one of kind oil pastel artwork. Must see up close to appreciate details of colorful fish. Painting has delightful variation of color and texture of individual tropical fish which is mounted on foam board to give impression of fish floating in the ocean sea. The tinier colorful fish appear to be mounted inside the outline of a large blue ocean background, although if you step away the tail of the largest fish to the right could be mistaken as the lips of a very large blue blow fish in the background like an optical illusion. Large wall hanging, figural art mounted on foam board in a shadowbox which gives the illusion of floating fish. The overall background has a goldish taupe color maybe meant to look like sand on a tropical beach. The oil pastel art print is in excellent mint condition.
