This model is much preferred over the D version, sharper and focuses much quicker, still light enough for hand held use! Medium telephoto to long telephoto...zoom action requires use much less wrist action than the 200-500mm Nikon version with much more useful range to boot. Great for large animal shots in the wild, the zoo or air shows.
