This item is a vintage Handlan No. 57 signal lantern, historically used by the Metropolitan Utilities District (M.U.D.) in Omaha, Nebraska for signaling stop or danger. It features a bright red painted metal body and a matching red tinted glass globe. The lantern is stamped with “M.U.D. on the base, indicating its municipal utility use. The lantern is in good condition. The neat red glass has no cracks and is also in very good condition. This nice Omaha Collectable is from the 1920’s to 1930’s. This one is priced to sell at $75.
