Honeybees removed and rescued

Save this information! I rescue honey bees in the NRV that are in unwanted places and unlikely to survive unless an experienced beekeeper properly houses them and protects them from the host of threats they face. Folks hire me by the hour to carefully extract colonies from soffits, walls, between floors and ceilings…you name it. I carefully and gently remove the bees and their comb. I bring all that back to my farm, and then on my time I rehouse them and nurse the colony back to health after the traumatic event of relocation. Honeybees move into a cavity after swarming. Swarming is an act of reproduction. It is how honeybees attempt to increase the number of colonies in an area. If the colony is not relocated, it will either continue to expand making removal a bigger job, or the unmanaged colony will die out from parasites and diseases, and a new swarm will move into the same space. You really should take action as soon as you notice them living in your building. Did you know that in Southwest Virginia in the month of May, a healthy queen can lay 1200 to 1500 eggs per day. With that in mind, if you have honey bees living somewhere they should not be, do you think it’s a good idea to put it off? I encourage you to save my phone number in your contacts under honey bees. Text me a photo of the situation and we will arrange a phone call to discuss the details. PS; I cannot help with yellow jackets, wasps, hornets or any other kinds of insects besides honeybees
