Mechanical Engineer

Position Title: Mechanical Engineer Location: In person/Bouldin & Lawson LLC McMinnville Tennessee Position Type: Full-Time Industry: Nursery & Greenhouse (Horticulture Equipment & Services) Job Summary: Are you a motivated and results-driven engineering professional looking to make an impact in a dynamic industry? We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join the Bouldin & Lawson, L.L.C. Team. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and improvement of industrial machinery and automated systems. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, sales, and service to deliver high-quality equipment solutions tailored to customer needs. Key Responsibilities: • Design mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software • Develop detailed drawings, specifications, and bills of materials • Perform engineering calculations including stress analysis, load calculations, and material selection • Support prototype development, testing, and troubleshooting • Work closely with manufacturing to ensure designs are production-ready • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance • Provide technical support to sales and service teams as needed • Ensure designs comply with safety and regulatory standards Qualifications: Required: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling programs) • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, fabrication, and manufacturing processes • Ability to read and create detailed engineering drawings • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Preferred: • Experience with automation systems, conveyors, or material handling equipment • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and drive systems • Familiarity with ERP systems and BOM management • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment • 2+ years of experience in mechanical design (industrial machinery preferred) Bouldin & Lawson, L.L.C. offers: • Competitive salary based on experience and job performance. • Comprehensive benefits package includes 401(k), health, dental & vision insurance. • Paid time off and holidays • Opportunities for professional growth and career advancement. • Supportive and collaborative team-work oriented environment. • The opportunity to work with made in the U.S.A., innovative products and services within the industry that can truly make a difference and foster a positive impact to and for clients and customers.
