Great mandolin. Its almost 25 years old so some call it vintage. Its in great shape and really sounds nice since its hand carved all solid wood and stands out in a crowd. Note for note is very articulate and also nice tone and volume when strumming for backup. Comes with nice hardshell case that fits perfectly. Set up to play easily all the way up the neck. This is a beautiful looking, sounding and easy playing Teton STS150ENT solid spruce top dreadnought sized acoustic guitar with a Road Runner gig bag. This guitar is very playable, structurally solid, and ready to play. The Fishman Presys+ tuner /preamp works properly. A good fully functional intermediate level guitar. This model has a solid spruce top and laminated mahogany back and sides. Nice wood binding front and back. The tuners are die cast models, smooth and tight. There was a dryness crack in the top that I re-hydrated and repaired with hot hide glue, see the picture below. Teton guitars are still in production and can be researched on line. But this model is no longer being made. You can find a manual for the Fishman Presys+ system manual on line. This is a nice intermediate guitar that probably cost $400-500 when new with all items and a case, Im guessing. Road Runner gig bag is in good shape, no rips or tears, odors or smells. Zippers, shoulder straps and handles work properly. Made in China. Do a little advance homework, Google Teton STS150ENT and look over other information and reviews on this guitar. The top is solid spruce, the sides and back are a mahogany laminate inside and out. The neck is a mahogany specie. String action at the 12th fret is slightly over the thickness of a nickel. It plays real smooth up and down the neck. The neck is straight and the rosewood fingerboard is in good condition. The frets are in good condition and have no wear. The truss rod works as designed and is functional. The neck/body joint and all internal bracing is solid. The bridge, and bridge pins are tight. Tuners are die cast models, smooth and tight. The finish is in good overall condition. No odors or smells. The strings are new DAddario EJ11s, 53-12s. I polished the frets, cleaned and re-conditioned the fingerboard and bridge. Shes been set up and is ready to play. ******Repair****** On the front there was a dryness crack behind the bridge. I rehydrated and then repaired it with hot hide glue. Added a few cleats inside. Its not invisible, but it is stabilized and the finish is resealed. See the pictures Ive added. **************** IF IT IS STILL LISTED, ITS STILL FOR SALE ****************** Take the time to come play this and you will appreciate how well it sounds and plays. This is the only way to properly evaluate the guitar. If you have a friend who plays well, bring them along to test drive it for you if needed. Get an immediate second opinion from your friend. A very good guitar to learn on. Definitely a large step up from many entry level guitars. This should take the guitar out of the learning equation if youre just getting started. 1981 Mark Leaf Dreadnought Guitar Case This case is made to properly fit Martin 6-string dreadnought guitars, e.g. D-18, D-28, etc, and all the other fine guitars built to the same dimensions. The case is lined with a fabric that was specifically chosen to not damage the nitro-cellulose guitar finish used on the Martin dreadnoughts and other comparable guitars. The glue used to assemble the interior was selected for the same reason -- it emits no fumes that will damage the guitar finish. The case offers much better thermal insulation than most cases. The guitar will eventually warm up in the case if you are driving with them in the trunk or sun on hot summer days, but more slowly. Similarly, if you put them in checked baggage on an airliner, they will cool down slower. Slower cooling means slower contraction and less stress on the wood. The case is strong and sturdy. It was airtight when new, and might still be. In the photos a small patch of tape can be seen on the outside of the case lid. It covers up a small crack that was inflicted by an airline and repaired at their expense. The edges of the crack did not separate and were epoxied back together. The case has the original locks, still functional, and will come with one key. If you will use the case as checked baggage on airline flights, you may want to replace the locks with TSA locks of whatever variety you prefer. When the locks are open, the machine screws that attach the locks to the case are exposed and the locks can be easily changed. If interested, please reply by email (no text messages can reach me).
