We are currently doing some remodeling and are parting ways with this beautiful solid oak fireplace mantel. Here’s the cool backstory: our house actually used to belong to the local artisan woodworker Robert Hause (the craftsman behind Art of the Craft on Wrightsville Ave). He built this specific mantel for his own living room while he lived here. Anyone familiar with his work knows he was a master at period-accurate Arts & Crafts and Mission-style pieces, and he definitely didnt cut any corners building a piece for himself. It features his carved monogram makers mark right in the center, classic pyramid accent pegs, and a beautiful hearth motto across the front that reads: If your heart is cold, my fire cannot warm it. It’s made of heavy solid oak with a rich, dark finish. Condition-wise, I’d call it excellent overall. It has a few minor cosmetic blemishes from normal handling and use over the years, but it looks fantastic and has a ton of character. Exact Dimensions (Please measure your space!): Total Exterior Footprint: 65-1/2 Wide x 53-1/4 High x 7 Deep (at the top shelf) Interior Fireplace Opening: 50-1/4 Wide x 37 High (The opening is generously sized to fit standard modern fireboxes while leaving plenty of room for a brick or tile surround.)
