Comes with a wooden case which was restored and looks great. Interior of the unit was thoroughly cleaned, all switches and pots flushed and treated with Deoxit D5 and F5. Front glass cleaned on both sides and silver face and knobs were cleaned and polished. Controls are smooth and there is no crackling or channel drop off. Tested AM/FM, phono, Tape, and AUX inputs using turntable and Wiim Pro Plus. All functions work and no blown lights either. At 30 wpc plenty of power to drive inefficient speakers. Tested with my Klipch Chorus II I barely needed to turn the volume up. Pioneer speaker plugs included, enough to drive 4 speakers. Very attractive setup, and perfect for your 2-channel vintage listening system. Here are some specs: The classic 1970–1971 Pioneer SX-990 receiver delivers 28 watts per channel (WPC) continuous RMS power into an 8-ohm load. I did a lot of very good work on this Pioneer to make it healthy: new caps, transistors and trim pots on the driver board, new output transistors (gain matched) and paste, cleaned/lubed controls, FM tuner alignment, biased, LEDs, etc….Then tested using a 8 ohm dummy load, sig generator and scope with additional testing of Phono using and inverse RIAA unit….Wrapped the lovely case in cherry veneer because, why not?🤣…Looks and sounds amazing…This is a cap coupled receiver with a very tube like sound…Serious buyers please call…
