The satin black PAINT is in very good condition (no rust, cuts, erosion, flakes), and is very BLACK (NOT FADED) IN COLOR.*** The very fancy armchair is constructed from SOLID 3/8 square wrought iron tube skillfully heated and uniformly curved (scrolled at top of chair), and was obviously designed by an experienced and patient blacksmith (see example of fancy foot pods). Round solid tubing is used for the ornamental and symmetrical scrolls near the top of the backrest. The ottoman (stool) is made with hollow thick gauge 5/8 square tube and solid 5/16 square tube. Both would blend into an opulent, Hollywood Hills patio setting. Reupholster the still good, uniform, easy-to-recover cushions with your choice of a cloth pattern (with perimeter piping, perhaps)! No disappointments, believe me ***(looks even nicer in person, without the scrutinizing and bleaching of the flash camera; we have our windows blocking the sun indoors). Anything you see on the black paint is either a bit of dust or chalk. The paint IS really nice, even on the wooden vertical slats. This ensemble will hold at least a few hundred pounds, if necessary.
