For sale is a tall and boxy piece of furniture that is intended to be used as a display stand for various objects. For example, you could use this as an art stand to display a statue, a vase, or other art work. You could also use this as a plant stand. There are no limits to the type of object that can be displayed on top of this furniture item. My parents had this stand custom-constructed by a carpenter about 40 years ago! It was used to display a tall and thin bronze statue that weighed about 160 pounds. The stand measures exactly 11 wide, 11 deep, and 30.625 tall. It weighs about 40 pounds. All of the attached pictures are of the actual stand for sale, taken from various angles and perspectives. The stand is mainly constructed of 0.25 thick sheets of genuine birds eye maple, over plywood sheets constructed of genuine pine wood. The maple wood is what you see on the exterior surfaces of the stand. The pine plywood sheets make up the internal skeletal frame that you normally cannot see. The interior of the stand is hallow in order to reduce the weight. Pictures 18 and 19 show the hallow nature of the stand. Each of the maple wood side panels is actually composed of several smaller sheets glued together over the pine wood. The top panel is one single sheet of maple wood, also glued together over the pine wood frame. Pictures 20 to 24 are closeup images of each of the five exterior sides to show the beautiful maple wood grain. Due to the generous use of both maple and pine wood, this stand is extremely sturdy to accommodate the heaviest of objects placed on top of it. As mentioned above, a 160 pound statue was placed on top of this with no concerns. But please keep in mind, that the object placed on top should balance on this stand. If its not balanced, the object on top may fall off. And you should secure the item to the stand to prevent the object from falling over during an earthquake! Ill let you figure out the best method for your needs. The stand is in excellent structural and functional condition. All wooden panels are robust, with no bending, warping, or deterioration. The internal wooden frame is perfectly intact with no issues. Overall, the stand is extremely robust. The stand is also in excellent cosmetic condition. There are no significant scratches, dents, dings, smudges or other problems with any of the exterior maple wood panels. There are a few extremely tiny scratches on some exterior surfaces, but these are not visible unless you are specifically looking for them. Also, the top panel has a small patch where the surface lacquer is wearing thin. This patch is not as shiny as the other sections, indicating some rubbing away of the lacquer. Please keep in mind that these cosmetic issues dont harm the structural integrity of the stand. Considering its over four decades old, its in incredible cosmetic shape! You can pick up from my house near the San Jose Airport. Or I would be happy to deliver it to you, if I happen to travel out in your direction. I prefer that you reach out via text message. Sending an initial email message is OK. But arranging pickup solely using email is not a feasible option for me. Eventually, youll have to text me to arrange a specific pickup or delivery time. Made with a completely recyclable polypropylene, this durable version of the classic Eames Shell Chair has a subtle, matte texture and, like all shell chairs, a simple, gracious form that fits any body and every place. Theyre in good vintage condition with some minor cosmetic wear, mostly to the seats. Set of four afromosia (African teak) and teak dining chairs made in the U.K. by G-Plan circa 1960s. These are from the Brasilia line, designed by Victor Bramwell Wilkins and launched in 1964. They feature afromosia frames with bentwood teak backs curved to echo the architecture of Brasilia, the capital of Brasil. Seats retain their original cream-colored vinyl, nicely padded and still quite comfortable. Frames are in good vintage condition with some expected wear from age and use. 18.25 wide at the seat, 18.75 wide at the back, 19 deep, 32.5 high, 18 seat height. $1395. 3. Beautiful set of four solid wood mid-century dining chairs by AH McIntosh of Scotland circa early 1970s. These chairs feature quality craftsmanship and mid-century style, with nicely padded seats upholstered in what appears to be original multicolor fabric in browns, oranges and beiges. Fabric is in good shape with some wear, but usable as is and pretty cool. If you prefer, it would be fairly easy for you to recover in your fabric of choice. Frames are in good condition with some expected minor wear. 19.5 wide, 20.5 deep and 36 high with a 18.5 seat height. $1095. 4. Set of four vintage mid-century dining chairs by Greaves and Thomas with padded and upholstered seats and slat backs that follow the natural curve of ones back. The wood is a medium brown color and would work well with walnut or other wood types, and the fabric is a nice neutral brown color. They are pretty comfortable, and the curved back offers nice support. Very good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. The fabric has a few small spots, and the wood has some scratches that arent too noticeable. 18.5 wide, 21 deep, 34 high, 18.5 seat height. $595. 5. Set of eight Hans J Wegner for Getama model GE201 dining chairs, black with black leather seats and a light-colored wood inlay on the arms. They feature rounded backs which curl around into downward slanting arms, with the rare inlaid wood feature which really makes this set extra special. Designed by Hans Wegner in 1982 and produced by Getama in Denmark, six of them retain their Getama, Gedsted, design Hans J Wegner stamps on the bottom. They are in very good vintage condition with just a few cosmetic blemishes to the frames and some slightly wrinkled leather on a few chairs. 21.75 wide, 20.25 deep, 28 high, 17.5 seat height. $6495. 6. Set of six vintage high-back dining chairs (four side chairs and two armchairs), made in the U.K. by Nathan Furniture circa 1970s.
