Hello Everyone, I can no longer receive Craigslist emails, my contact information is written below**. Thanks. I have for sale a beautifully formed and complete vintage solid brass hanging lamp. Every part of it is solid brass. It was made in Spain 60-70 years ago and was imported by the Crystal Import company (sticker under the canopy). It’s also stamped made in Spain concealed under the flourish covering part of the canopy. I have a completely clear incandescent lightbulb for the picture but this would take any standard base bulb (the most common type). It doesn’t have to be incandescent, it’s my preference. Old world quality craftsmanship, excellent castings. As you may be able to see it’s cord is cloth covered for a more elegant look, but underneath the cloth is strong plastic insulated cord as any lamp would have. I think it’s best attribute is it’s overall form. It’s great for a hallway, bathroom, foyer or anywhere. It measures a total drop from the ceiling of 49 inches but it can be shortened easily by removing some of the chain s. The fixture itself is 16 inches tall x 10 inches in diameter. Vintage Antique 1890s Embossed Tin Camelback Trunk Eclectic Maximalist Victorian Industrial A Beautiful Piece of Traveling History - Ready for a New Home! I came across this incredible late 1800s Victorian era ornamental embossed tin camelback trunk right here in the Seattle area. We can only imagine how it got here or what adventures it has been on before then. If you love antique pieces with genuine character, this is a phenomenal find that doesnt take up a massive amount of space. This trunk features a high, gracefully curved humpback (or camelback) lid design. Historically, these rounded lids were highly prized because baggage handlers on steamships and trains were forced to place them at the very top of the luggage pile so they wouldnt tip over, protecting the expensive embossed tin exterior and structural wood slats from being crushed by flat-top trunks. Excellent Structural Condition: Considering its age, this trunk is in remarkably solid shape. The heavy wood slats and stout iron straps are structurally sound and ready for use. The leather handles are intact although perhaps they could use a little antique leather conditioner and probably shouldnt be relied upon for heavy lifting. The exterior boasts a gorgeous, authentic weathered patina that tells the story of its 140-year journey across the country. You can absolutely leave it exactly as-is for that rugged, primitive look, or it serves as the perfect canvas for a light technical restoration. A gentle cleaning with mineral spirits and boiled linseed oil on the wood perhaps, and a fresh coat of clear finish toner would beautifully bring out the intricate detailing of the embossed tin and the rich grain of the wood slats. No Musty Odor: The biggest deterrent with old trunks is usually a damp smell. This one has been kept dry and does not smell like mildew. It is clean and ready to store your blankets, board games, or winter clothes. Ideal Size: Unlike massive, flat-top wardrobe trunks that are difficult to fit into a room, this compact size is perfect to use as a unique coffee table, an entryway console, or an end-of-bed blanket chest. Pure Character: It is a beautiful, rugged survivor of the era of steamships and the Transcontinental Railroad expansion.
