Custom ordered in premium upgrade “España” leather (an Italian hide with an extremely smooth and tight hand) in the color “Alhambra” (an eye-catching, warm brown hue). This is the genuine Knoll edition, not a reproduction: the KnollStudio logo and Mies’s signature are stamped into the steel frame; there is an additional KnollStudio factory decal with a unique serial number for identification and authentication; and the pattern on the underside of the upholstery features recurring “Knoll” stitching. Superb condition: the leather cushions are still extremely firm, tight and smooth with only the slightest signs of gentle use over time and no rips, tears or damage whatsoever; the hardwood frame is clean and shiny, with only a couple of minor nicks. A statement of timeless luxury and craftsmanship, the Barcelona Couch features a Sapele Mahogany hardwood frame from Africa finished with a protective clear lacquer finish, which attaches to four legs made of tubular steel in polished stainless steel. To create the deep, precise tufting of the cushion, a single cowhide is cut, hand-welted and hand-tufted into 72 individual leather panels, with supporting buttons produced from the same single cowhide; the matching bolster is secured to the cushion platform with straps complete with lock snaps. The cushion sits on top of 11 belting leather straps in the same color, which are fastened to the wood frame. All cushions are premium quality, fire-retadant, high resilient urethane foam with down-like dacron polyester fiberfill. ***The standard retail price for this exact configuration is $21,876 plus tax and shipping — a grand total of $24,251 — and a 2 month wait time. This is the unicorn, white, REAL LEATHER, high-quality sectional that everyone is looking for, and is usually impossible to find. A piece like this only comes available once a year if that. Dont fall for the PU Leather scams, they may even be decieving to your eye, but once we get it home, you will quickly find out its junk, and throw away hundreds of dollars for something that will soon, inevitably, peel and chip white flakes all over your floor until the couch is an ugly eyesore within a year. This quality genuine thick LEATHER sectional is not in perfect condition, it has a minor scratch and scuff or two that are virtually unnoticeable unless you know where to look very closely, and even those could be repaired cheaply and easily with scratch repair products available everywhere, to be perfectly invisible. I just never thought it necessary as they are so minor and the functionality, firmness, and operation of the stainless steel ratchet head/back-rests is perfect.
