Our family of 7 sat around this table for our growing up years in the 50s and 60s, and long after that for family dinners and gatherings through the 1990s. Then sat there til Feb 2019 as we finished the estate clean up and house went on market. LOTS of memories go with this. Good Basic Condition, used a lot, but not abused. Also has never been refurbished in any way. Top needs a good polish! Id like to one day go down with my brother to pull it out (in storage with still some boxes left from the 40s yet to go through!) and lightly clean and sand and polish it fresh!!! But doing things like that is too much at our ages anymore. It has the two extension leaves, (plus a few good chairs left) and one broken backed one. None of us know that story. Nor exactly what happened to the others, originally 6. There were replacements over the years with others that didnt match. I have those. Im thinking some got broken like maybe when we used to build tents etc using the chairs and...wish any of us could recall... Its been in my storage, since the estate cleanup in 2019, and its time to let it go. And I need to empty the storage as its becoming a burden to continue to pay rent anymore. Vintage 1980s world globe on a carved wood stem and convex gold toned metal base. Plastic globe with an adhered pressed paper map overlay. Includes raised areas to details some topography. Marked Replogle World Nation Series 12 inch diameter globe. Made in USA. Dated between 1976-1989 -includes VIETNAM (combined North and South Vietnam in 1976) -includes BURMA (changed to Myanmar in 1989) -includes SOUTH YEMEN and NORTH YEMEN (changed to Yemen in 1990) Measures 13-3/4w (with the metal arch; globe ball is 12 diameter) x 10 base x 30h Condition is GOOD. This globe is in unrestored vintage condition showing normal wear from age and use. All parts are in place and secure. The base is securely attached to the globe with a screw and plastic washer. Globe rotates and spins as designed. Cosmetically, there are a few stubborn dirt marks, spot stains, and some peeling separation of the map overlay in the middle which is hard to show in the photo because its so minor.
